"Tuesday morning, authorities from the Laramie County [Wyoming] Sheriff's Office were joined in their recovery effrot by the Weld County [Colorado] Sheriff's Office, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Laramie County Emergency Management, the 84th Civil Support Team [Wyoming National Guard], Laramie County Road and Bridge, Laramie County Fire District, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Captain Linda Gesell with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office said the process will be painstaking, but it is necessary to bring justice to the little boy.

"It's basically a lucky chance that we're going to find anything, but we have to try," authorities said Tuesday.

Authorities believe they have the site narrowed down to a specific "newer" area of the dump, where investigators will have to search through approximately 200,000 pounds of garbage.

About 40 people are expected to at the landfill each day during the search. Officials said the search will take some time and authorities will re-evaluate the situation after a couple weeks."

(O/T, Do you guys remember that case of the little guy, he died bc they put meth through in his bottle, iirc.?)

Rogers delayed a court appearance so he could take investigators to the boy's body, Gesell said. The location he gave investigators was false. This contributed to delays in searching the landfill.

Between Oct. 30 and 31, investigators received a tip the child was buried under a trailer. Cadaver dogs were brought in and a hit was made on a vehicle and a dumpster the boy could have been dumped in.

Gesell said cadaver dogs cannot be used at the landfill because of the methane gas at the landfill - searchers have to wear protective gear - and because other items, like dead animals or meat, interfere with the scent.

Officials cannot release a cause of death on Silas but say Rogers is not the biological father.

Investigators will interview his mother, but say at this time she is in no condition to speak because she is in the hospital. The reason she is in the hospital was not disclosed."

This story makes me so angry. I sure hope she isn't having another baby and that are other children are far, far away from her now. Any of these monsters actually.

Is there a chance he could not be at the landfill? Or is it confirmed?
