The only diet pill that has ever worked for me is Phentermine. It works like a charm, but I don't recommend it due to the health risks. I have heard about Xenical and the "orange curse" it comes with.

It is not worth buying "depends" to lose weight. I had an urgency last week and my son sat on the floor leaned against the shopping cart while I was in the bathroom. I was so embarrassed because I knew everyone knew when they saw him.

Side effects that usually occur after the first year of treatment with Xenical include: depression, leg pain, swollen feet, and tendonitis.

The effect of using Xenical for more than 2 years is still unknown.

Xenical increases the likelihood of kidney stones.

Along with dietary fat, Xenical decreases the absorption of some fat-soluble vitamins and beta-carotene. To compensate, you should take a multivitamin containing vitamins A, E, D, and K once a day, at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking Xenical.

I am a little suprised they are putting it on the market. I remember Olestra, you know that they cooked the potato chips in? Rectal leakage.
But I am afraid of all those side effects. My sis had her stomache stapled as she needed it for her health. She has all kinds of side effects but she could have died without it.
I hate to say it but now that she has lost weight she looks like a turtle peeking out of her shell. Her neck is skinny but it all droops down to a round body.
I don't have much weight to lose so I would not take this. I would think anyone who did would be better off seeing a physician and getting advice.

My poor friend had been warned! She knew not to eat loads of fatty foods, but she never thought the result of eating pizza and cheesecake would be so loud, visible and PUBLIC!

Is this a fast acting little pill? I just ASSumed the side effects happened a couple of hours later, hopefully in the privacy of home. I envision a turbo booster in the britches.

I can't take this pill. I don't look good in orange.

I can tell you specifically when I use it. I love a cheeseburger 3 to 5 times a year. The cheese and the burger are much fattier thatn I usually eat, so I take one whenever I eat that. I have no problems..cuz trust me I wouldn't take it if I did. Also, if i go out to eat and cannot be sure how the food is prepared I take one.

The problem that is happening with the people that are leaking is that they are consuming far far far too much fat in the first place. They think heck I will eat this fattymeal and get rid of it with a xenical OOPPSS!!

If you want to use them for weight loss, you eat a low to moderate fat diet and supplement with the xenical to cut the fat content down bit more. If you are on a diet you shouldn't be eating fatty meals in the first place ! I can say to the people that have "problems" they are busted! because they must be cheating on their diet!

I know many people that supplement xenical with a low fat diet and they just get a little extra boost. But since they don;t cheat on their diet they don't have the side effects.

why even bother with the pill, if your fat intake is normally low, and you only enjoy a fatty emal 3-5 times a year?

This is what works for me too. There are times I will gain 4 or 5 lbs. (like over the Holidays), but then I cut way, way back on sweets and high calorie foods until I get back to my usual weight. Excercise is a must for me because it makes me feel good about myself and it also gives me energy for the rest of the day. If I don't exercise, then I don't accomplish very much that day.

I'm the same way, if I put on a few pounds I cut back on my food intake to get back to my idea weight.. I will not let myself get pass my idea weight that I set for myself.. I will do whatever it takes, including giving up a beer ... I work out all the time and feel guilty if I take time off which is good and not so good.. The guilt keep me going but my body does need to rest, too...

This describes me to a tee. My muscles were sore, and I was really exhausted today, but I trudged on. I'm not as young as I used to be. However, I guess that I will die trying to prove that I am.

Phentermine is the generic name for it, it is sold under several different names, such as Adipex-P, Fastin, and Ionamin.

Jules, it has not been taken off the market. That's the misconception about Phentermine, because people just hear the "Phen" and automatically assume that it's Fen Phen. Phentermine was a part of the makeup Fen-Phen. It was not the bad part of the combination though, it was the "Fen" part of the medication that was taken off the market, not "Phen".

I did say that I don't recommend Phentermine because of the health risks. There are some conditions that would make someone ineligible to take it. It has a speed like effect, and that's why I would never tell someone to take it unless they check with their doctor first, obviously. It has been a miracle drug for me, but it's not for everyone.

Just don't buy into a majical pill. There is no such notion. It is going to be work. Changing your diet and exercising. Nothing glamorous.If someone tries to sell you on this then question their motives.
