Zach Adams guilty in kidnapping murder of Holly Bobo Sept 23, 2017

Interesting article - SA's parents did a good deed - but doesn't change the fact they enabled their son - although I do think SA was the only one of the four with a conscience. Also I remember Dennis Ferrier doing a story on the PI and info uncovered by Holly's parents - and the TBI reprimanded WSMV and said they harmed the investigation- turns out Ferrier was correct

This makes no sense. SA's mom testified and she was not elderly.

THIS IS A SNIP FROM THE ABOVE 20/20 ARTICLE. Thank you Rocco.

Clint Bobo-“I tried to do everything that they asked, really, plus more,” he continued. “I tried to be as helpful as I could. I know that it is viewed as, probably to a lot of people, as changing my story. But I don't view it that way. I view that as me being compliant with law enforcement.”

1. I can’t pinpoint it but his dialogue just seems off-in my opinion.
2. I wonder why Karen wasn’t told she would be handling personal items belonging to Holly?

I just listened and found nothing odd about what he said, or how he said it.

It sounds cruel but I probably wouldn't have told her either. First, she would just worry about it and be even more of a nervous wreck than she was already. Second, you want the jury to see her honest reactions. If you prepare her for that, you won't get her honest reaction. JMHO.

I don't find his language off. I think he is a man who was the last to see Holly alive (besides her killers, as far as we know). He may have been more upset 6.5 years ago when they first looked at him as a potential suspect. I am sure that he and his family now know that stranger abductions are more rare than family violence issues. I work hard to remember that there is a tremendous amount of time and distance between this crime and this end result-- complete with fog and resignation.

-Not ‘off’ as in blame, fault or suspect. To ‘me’ it seems like he is still under pressure to defend himself. “I tried, their views, etc”. In that very short paragraph he is repetitive about it. It may just be his normal dialogue but if not, I feel sorry for him if he is still struggling with it.

thanks...honestly do not think any appeal will go anywhere.

I think we will find out about the judge's connections with jurors during the appeal. I think JT will note these comments from the judge and the judge's failure to recuse based on his prior involvement with ZA.

Interesting to me, on a different note, is that ZA would have been incarcerated when Holly was abducted were it not for the judge continually giving him diversion, rehab, and leniency over time. Hindsight is 20/20. However, in a small town, when the same person is before you repeatedly, their family files restraining orders based on threatening and committing crimes against you, I would think that we can see a train wreck coming. Rehab was not helping him. The saddest part is that the Adam's family needed resources for DA and some tough love for ZA.

BBM: Oh, I hope so !

I am in the very minority here but I did NOT like this judge ... his bias towards the State and his distaste for the Defense was blatantly obvious, IMO.

Another thing I did not like was his comment to the jury that he wanted to take them to a football game - which idea got squashed because of the incident of someone yelling at the jurors when some of the jurors were up on the rooftop taking a smoke break.

I understand the judge is responsible for the jury but take the jury to a football game ... seriously ? I understand the jurors need a break and some entertainment but seriously ... the jurors knew they were not there on a vacation ... this was a Death Penalty case and it doesn't get any more serious than that ... and it does not matter that ZA was a career criminal with a rap sheet a mile long ... he was entitled to fair trial under the laws of the State and U.S. ... I believe everyone is entitled to a fair trial !

One more thing: I was re-listening to testimony regarding the evidence and at approximately 11:12 on the link below, the judge offers up a "pocket knife" to witness Booth (TBI agent) when he was trying to open up the sealed evidence envelope.

I mean really ? I thought knives were not allowed in the courthouse ... just like guns are not allowed in airports ?

-Agree! If you look back at my post, I also don’t think the tongue and cheek statements from the Judge was professional courtroom practice. It was his personal interjection that had no place in the mix of things. I understand needing to lighten the mood at certain times but I don’t think all of his attempts to do that were a home run.

This trial reminded me of something right out of Mayberry RFD. IMO there are plenty of errors for appeal. Not to mention I believe of the A train Jason Autry is the Devil in disguise. After all his nickname is Train. That nickname comes from a long time ago and this mistreatment of women with other guys. There may be Justice for some to hang a hat on, but at what expense? If the deals this Judge made over the years is this the one for Jason going to be the Grand Daddy of them all?

JA is absolutely a violent low life.

However, I think the cell phone logs show that he didn't arrive on the scene until way after the rape/kidnapping had occurred. He should be held accountable as accessory to murder because he was right there when the shooting occurred.

I think he will serve many years in prison for this evil crime, even though he testified against the others.

Judges don't make the deals that are offered to witnesses and fellow defendants, that's the state--specifically the DA.

It's the DA that decides who to charge and what to charge. It's the DA that negotiates any deals. It's the DA that decides whether to go for a death penalty or not. It's the DA that takes a case to a grand jury.

The judge is the referee and responsible for making sure the laws are applied appropriately and all the judicial procedures are being followed as applies to all aspects of the trial. It's the judge that keeps attorneys in-line and makes legal rulings.

Make no mistake about it -- this judge had no bearing on JA being a witness. And JA himself said he had not received any deal but "was hoping for leniency."

In case anyone is planning on watching the 20/20 episode, I opened a thread to discuss the information from the show.

When I hit reply I can see that you posted a link - it shows in the quote - but I can't see the link in regular view to click on it. Maybe it will show up for me before the show comes on

ETA: Found it. I have trouble finding my way around WS anyway - but really have trouble finding anything in here on my phone
