I find DO's views interesting. From what I have seen around the web, there are some aggressive case enthusiasts out there and I don't blame anyone for wanting to weed them out of a serious discussion.

Yep.
I'd wanna weed em out as well....
Although IMO even to attempt a "serious " discussion, let's say a discussion referencing a HIGH PROFILE LEGAL CASE like Avery's...I kinda can't help BUT to blame DO when he blatantly admits to not doing his homework ( reading transcripts/documents ) and makes many ASSumptions.

Well I have done my homework. That is how I know that he was right there in the courtroom during the trial so that puts him in a position to discuss the case. Why would he now need to read transcripts?

O'Donnell has put himself and his opinion out there. He may have covered the trial 11 years ago and he has formed an opinion and probably will never change it. He has misstated so many facts that I cannot take anything he says seriously. If he is representing himself as a 'journalist', the least he could do is verify that what he is putting out there is the truth, but he admits he has not 'refreshed his memory' by reading the transcripts (or checking them before making statements as facts), or even looking at all the reports that were not in the trial, like the CASO and MCSO reports.

Did anyone read the specifics of Bernards case? Corrupt crap all over:gaah:

LOL Dexter...that's why they call it "Crook County", instead of Cook County. Look up the case about the City of Chicago's Mayor Daley's nephew~~that says it all.

I know, BCA..I just get so frustrated with those who think LE can do no wrong, ya know?
At the end of the day they are people. Some make great choices and some not. What IRKS me is..LE is to " PROTECT and serve " the abuse of power is SICKENING!

  • #1,238
There are good LE. There's a sheriff in Texas near where TexMex lives who rescued a dog that was tied to a porch with head barely above flood waters. That's what I call protecting and serving! And that's what LE should be. But like any other profession, there are some very good, some very bad, and many in between.

Behaving badly in a position of power is beyond scary. A lot of damage can be done before anyone takes notice and even then people are frightened away from getting involved.

Thank goodness for LEO's like the one you mention above:rockon: I love a happy ending!
I've always been rather opinionated here..this case:pullhair: ( do ya blame me though?!! UGH ) I will ALWAYS believe there is more GOOD in the world than BAD, ALWAYS. ( LE INCLUDED )
I think BAD news = " Headlines " Everyone loves a great " story " right? I also think Social Media has made our world MUCH smaller..

I also think you nailed it when you stated " Behaving badly in a position of power is beyond scary. "
Extremely scary to think about..I couldn't imagine ending up as " collateral damage " the way Brendan did..JMO
