To my knowledge they only collected DNA from the Avery family. Since no one knows whether TH's last stop was GZ, his DNA should have been collected as well. To my knowledge that had not been done. Just because they talked to someone doesn't mean they investigated them as potential suspects. Heck I talked to our local police over at the convenience store the other day too, doesn't mean I was a suspect in any local criminal activity. Again, since GZ's could have been the last person who saw TH, he should have been treated as a potential suspect as well as several others who were non-business related. To see all the detectives, etc. etc. you just have to read the CASO reports and Manitowoc reports at stevenavery.org

Lastly, at the onset of Avery claiming he was being setup, MCSO should have all been called into a meeting and told "Hands Off", but instead they tried to strong arm SA~~saying that is ridiculous, how could we have done something like that, we could have easily have killed him instead of planting evidence. Had they said~~hey, wait a minute~~we don't want this to ever come back at us~~lets back off~~the evidence would have been found by Calumet and we all would not have the questions that we have today. Clearly, there was no leadership at the top in the MCSO.

They did collect and compare (I think?) SB's DNA. I assumed it was because he was the room mate and not a suspect. If he was a suspect, they never treated him like one, and come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing a search warrant for his DNA, so maybe he offered it up. In trial testimony it was clear that they didn't even interview SB and RH separately. I am also pretty sure that in testimony it was also brought up that loved ones, room mates, boyfriends, ex-bf's are usually investigated (those of us that follow cases, know this though, right?). They did do a few interviews with BC, but IMO it left me with a ton of questions afterwards and I don't recall seeing much follow up (alibi's, cell phone pings, etc.) Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, maybe we just don't have it yet.

The links to the transcripts are Stickied at the top of the forum, easy to find :) and of course www.stevenaverycase.org has the investigative reports that were released so far, and all DNA testing that was completed by SC.

You are absolutely right and yes, those of us following the Law, True Crime, etc. Hell, even in the movies BASED on real life ALL investigations (ESPECIALLY MISSING PERSONS) start inward moving out. Meaning LE starts with the person CLOSEST to the MISSING person. AVERY was not closest, but ok:waitasec:

Before someone jumps in and says " but.. the evidence... Her body... Her body was found..on HIS property" ... please, not this time.
And OMG, so many questions. To line a half dozen or so players from Manitowoc & Calumet County along a stage and have a question & answer session.
Though IMO they'd have to at the very least, be hooked up to a polygraph machine.

yeah, you are right, they didn't ... not sure why I thought they did .... shame on me for thinking they did something smart :D

I'm well, thanks :) Busy busy busy!

They sure didn't. Imagine that. Wondering if it was just part of the " process "...I'm sure it'll be excused, always is:rolleyes:
I'm sure it was just another " mistake "... right? :dunno:

With regard to the phone ( forgive me Missy, I'm nodding off hahaha )
After I read this last tweet, I read comments. ( always do ) What's with the phone being reported destroyed in the barrel AND logged as evidence?
We went over this already, yes?

To my knowledge~~there is nothing on this site that tells us we can NOT post our opinions and can only post FACTS or evidence. To my knowledge, we just need to place "just my opinion" when we are not posting FACTS. Unless, I'm mistaken about that, correct me if I'm wrong.

In regard to your statement that he was the last person to see TH alive by his own admission....I'd like to ask how he would KNOW someone else saw her last? He admitted she was at the salvage yard, yes we all know that by his "admission" but we also know by his "admisssion" that she left the salvage yard and turned left onto 147.

Not true..
He did not admit " I was the last to see her "
WE need to get to the NOT planted thread..

But CoolJ, You know... The jury heard *evidence* and found him guilty. Just like in the PB rape trial.

Those are the kind of "facts" some people feel are the only ones worth looking at.

Thank God Zellner and like-minded people everywhere know better.

I'm waiting for evidence that shows Avery was framed by LE. Zellner's track record is not evidence. Posters opinions are not evidence. JMO

I'm waiting right along with ya!

I love this site. I really do. The differences of opinion are obvious and let's face it, none of us know what actually happened that day....

But to correct a couple of things from above..... Steven Avery admitted himself that Teresa visited the salvage yard that day. He was the last person to see her alive, based upon his own admission.

For those that believe in a conspiracy, please, show some evidence. Not conjecture, not something that could have been the case. The facts are, there was no planting of evidence and the correct person is in prison for the Murder of Teresa. I'll concede that given the arguments people have made, Dassey clearly was bullied into joining in. The two out of three people that are still alive know exactly what happened that day. Avery deserves to rot in prison. My guess is that Dassey knows more than he lets on. For that, he needs to rot too, unless he comes clean with exactly what happened....

Avery's honesty about having seen TH during her visit to the salvage yard that day in no way proves that he was the last person to see her alive.

Right, and when you look at the reports and everything that we know, not much equals to 4, does it?

Like her phone for example.... how can TH be at Avery Salvage Yard at 2:41pm and her phone be near Whitelaw? What was it, 13.1 miles away (the closest point from Avery's that the tower would have picked up that ping)? How is that physically possible? Let's add to that..... SA's phone pinged a tower that he had been pinging all day at 2:35, it was physically impossible for him to have made it to the 13.1 mile Whitelaw ping from TH's phone in 6 minutes. Can't blame Brendan for this one, he was at school, so he didn't help.... so how do we explain it? This 2 + 2 scenario definitely does not equal 4 for me. JMO

I have read somewhere (I tried to find it and couldn't) since KZ filed her motion that Strang and/or Buting commented that they 'missed' the tower thing and they weren't perfect. It may have been a comment somewhere from someone that went to one of their Q&A sessions, so I will say JMO. Their first clue about the significance of the last tower ping should have been the moment that Kratz objected to tower info when Buting innocently asked a question during testimony from the Cingular employee. Makes me wonder if that information was in the pile of documents that the defense got and they just missed it? or if they never received it in the first place? JMO

I totally agree, and when there is a criminal case it is so important to do the investigation as thoroughly as possible and go through all the correct procedures to make sure nothing is missed. When we consider if it's not done properly a person's life hangs in the balance. I think in most cases justice is served, but there are those exceptions that people are also wrongfully convicted and in those cases justice has failed.

OK, I'm not as good at posting these tweets as Missy is, but here is a new one and I will give it a shot:

"There were 2 sets of X-rays. Set one: compressed & given to defense. Set two uncompressed & concealed from defense. #MakingAMurderer #48Hrs" "

Kathleen Zellner twitter account

That tweet is referring to Melissa Calusinski. Her post conviction motion for a new trial was denied today, which it sounded like Zellner figured would happen. It's crazy to me that the judge that presided over the original trial also makes post-trial decisions like this one. Zellner tweeted this earlier today:

Kathleen Zellner ‏@ZellnerLaw
Told @MelissaCJustice "Trial Judge will deny your PC" and he'll be reversed. #LakeCountyWrongfulConvictions#Lifeafterten#MakingaMurderer

and she also tweeted this article: http://abc7chicago.com/news/judge-denies-request-by-melissa-calusinski-for-new-trial/1533627/

Thanks for clarifying!

No problem :) She has been using the #MakingAMurderer hashtag and it can get confusing (KZ's tweets confusing??? naaaaaa! LOL)

Here is a new one, again in regards to Melissa

Kathleen Zellner ‏@ZellnerLaw
Judge & LCSA: use wrong standard for Brady violation. Confuse "new evidence" with "concealed evidence." Reversible error

Well, this is very interesting....

Looking at the trail transcripts, we have the following who said "no one ever"

Cross Examination by Attorney Strang of Lieutenant Lenk--"And no one ever admitted doing anything wrong in connection with that earlier case to you, did they?"

Cross Examination by Attorney Strange of Mark Weigert--"And you learned that no one ever presented the check for payment, or tried to cash the check?" (In regard to SS's check he wrote and gave TH on that fateful day)

Lastly, Buting mentions it in his closing statement...And so they come up with this theory, this absolutely preposterous theory on how this magic key, that no one ever finds before, suddenly appears in plain view, out of this bookcase. (this is referring to when Kucharski was with Colburn and Lenk when they found the key) (Tyson was told to watch Colburn and Lenk, but Kurcharski was not told to watch them)

So, we have Lenk, Weigert, Buting making that statement. Buting in reference to Lenk and Colburn finding the key with Kucharski...couple that with the statement "Planters Remorse" can be figure out who is talking???

IMHO, someone is talking and I personally think it is Weigert.

I wonder if she is talking about Pam "God led me to it" Sturm?

You know...something just bothered me about the "snitch" comment. Thinking about it more...I wonder if Pam was on the property the night before she found it~~so she knew exactly where to go when she got there Saturday morning. I still think someone is talking, maybe RH or SB?
