WV WV - Melanie Metheny, 21, Charleston, 19 July 2006

Maybe someone here can help me. I was reading about Melanie on another forum. I am a little intuitive, and the name Jeremy popped into my head.

Then I went to topix to see if anything was posted about Melanie. I didn't find anything about her, but I did find something curious. Evidently a police officer was put on administrative leave because of domestic battery in 2007. I wouldn't have thought much of it, but, at this link - first post, it looks like his name may have been Jeremy.

I tried to locate the article that was connected to this discussion, but it was already gone. I googled and tried to find another mention of it, but I found nothing. Does anyone know anything about an officer named Jeremy who was in trouble for domestic battery in Belle, WV?

It may be nothing, but he sounds violent, and I wonder if he knew Melanie.

Thinking of you, Melanie! I hope your family will someday have answers.

Claycat...Belle is a tiny town. I'm sure he may have known her, but no, I don't think related.

7/19 - 4 years ago Melanie disappeared. I hope her family will somehow get some answers. :(

Seven years after a young mother of three went missing her family and friends are still trying to figure out what happened to her.

Melanie Metheny was last seen on July 19, 2006 when she dropped her children off at a day care center in Belle. Her family has decided to turn the anniversary of her disappearance as a day to help raise money for Melanie's love of animals
.

Melanie has been missing for a decade now. The Facebook page for her is still being updated; still waiting for the break needed to solve this case.

A tree at Coonskin Park was dedicated to a woman who has been missing for a decade.

Melanie Metheny was last seen dropper her kids off at a daycare in Belle in July of 2006. Since then, her family has been holding on to hope that they would see her again.

I dated someone that was 1 of 3 people questioned about Melanie's murder. My ex was out of town at the time so obviously didn't have anything to do with it. But at the time it was thought that friend #1 was the main culprit and got help from friend#2 and my ex after the fact.the marmet locks were under construction at the time and they thought they took her body and put it in the structure where concrete would be poured. The rumor that friend #1 was the person was and may stilled be very dominant and widely believed, especially with his reputation,I even believed it at one point.
However probably about 2011-2012 me and my ex were hanging out with Melanie's bfs (at time of disappearance)sister. Jared Davis was drunk and told my ex that he did it,but he didn't mean to ,that he is haunted by it. He wouldn't go into any details after the fact. I believe this is true because both me and my ex firmly believed that friend#1 was no doubt responsible and was shocked by this.

Like Mka28 asked have you reported this information to the police?

A rock inscribed with the reminder to "live life one day at a time" is a decorative piece that sits in Sandra Metheny's front yard.

"It tore the family apart with Melanie missing," her aunt Leusa Wellington said.

It was especially devastating to her cousins who were more like siblings. Especially Chaz Richardson.

'Chaz just loved Melanie," Sandra said of her two grandchildren. "They were close."

But just how closely the cousins' lives would resemble one another nine years later is haunting.

"I said it can't happen twice in one family. It just can't, it's impossible, but the impossible happened," Wellington said.

May 1, 2017 marked 514 days since her son, Chaz, vanished.
