Hi my name is Scott, from Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Divorced father of a 15 year old son and 13 year old daughter. I came to WS because I started following the Johnny Gosch case and find it absolutely fascinating and discouraging at the same time. I've slogged through soooo many websites dedicated to the case and can literally feel my head starting to spin as I try to weed out fact from fiction. Once I got here, I was simply floored at the sheer volume of missing people. I regularly scan the topics in the hopes (faint as they may be) that I can help solve something in some way.
 
My name is also Glenn, and I live in the north GA mountains in an area deemed Wolfscratch Wilderness by the Cherokee Indians. Followed high profile crimes on ms media and blogged on various forums before coming to websleuths in 2008. While following the local and national news of the abduction of Meredith Hope Emerson from Blood Mtn/AT on 01/01/2008. Little did I know that this crime would be the catalyst leading to a very long journey researching why some missing/murdered persons investigations are solved while so many others grow cold.

I witnessed Meredith Emerson and serial killer Gary Hilton, hiding in the woods near my home on 01/03/2008; the day before he murdered and decapitated her. I thought that they were only campers. He was apprehended on 01/04/2008 due to an aware citizen's 911 call and later convicted of the abductions and murders of three additional victims in FL and NC. GMH is now on FL's death row..
Due to this traumatic experience I joined CUE; a national missing person search organization and have become very involved in missing/murdered causes, as well as spreading awareness, and sleuthing multiple cases at a time with my websleuths family.

A few days ago the CUE<community united effort> search organization was dispatched to Covington, Ga by the family of missing Bobby Weaver and the Newton County Sheriff's Office. His case had grown cold and he had been missing for over two years;

Hi....l am the oldest sister of Johnny Hundley who 0disappeared from Fairfax OH on 10-15-1965 & has never been found. He was with his friend Jimmy McQuery. They were 9 yrs old. There are many theories that surround this story. Some things I've never heard before. There are things that haunt me everyday because l was at home when he failed to come home. If anyone has any ideas or knows anything that might help me out or solve this mystery...it would be really appreciated. For 51yrs we have been in limbo anout this. My mother kept the faith but went to her grave not knowing what happened or where he was. It's getting very late & I'm getting very tired. I will be back tomorrow to tell the whole story!!

Lostbrother, I'm very sorry for the five decades that you and your family have gone without answers. Imo, this extremely cold case should be re-investigated by the FBI due to the enormous resources at their disposal, the advancements in investigative techniques, forensics, and other technology over the past half century.

The story of Johnny Hundley & Jimmy McQuery....52 yrs ago on October 15, 1964. My little brother came home from school, changed his clothes took some pop bottles & headed for the corner grocery store to cash in the bottles. I assume he met up with Jimmy after that as they were best friends. I was at home fixing supper & Johnny knew to be home by 6pm to eat. At 6:30 he hadn't showed up yet & l begin to worry. My father had passed away in April of '63 & my mother was at work. I called her to let her know the situation. She came home & we called the McQuerys. They weren't there either. We rode around the neighborhood trying to find them to no avail. My mother called Fairfax PD & reported them missing. To this day we haven't heard or seen anything. They just vanished. About 2 yrs later a boy in the Marines in San Diego, California confessed to a Chaplain that he had killed the boys & buried them in the woods beside Fairfax School. They brought him back in custody & took him to the school yard to let him show where they were buried. After going to a few different places, he told authorities he was lying about their murders & only trying to get out of the Marines. The authorities gave him a lie detechter test, that he passed & they exonerated him & let him go. That was in'67 l believe. My question is....why would a 17yr old boy make up a story like that 2 or 3yrs later to get out of the service? He had to have it in his mind, after so long!! There's been a lot of stories & theorys that have been told...but l believe he did do it & got scared when he realized how much trouble he was in & how serious this was!! My mother was there the day he lead the police on a wild goose chase. I personally don't believe it was a goose chase. I believe he killed them & buried them in the woods!! Both Jimmys older brother & my brother were about the same age as the Marine. Neither one got along with him. He told the police before he recanted, that he killed them because of the other brothers, to get even. When this happened l was 20yrs old. Now I'll soon be 72. My other siblings are getting up in age also. We don't think Johnny is alive somewhere. We would just like to have some closure. Something my Mother never had before she left us in 2002.

Thank you dotr. My Mother was in denial & thought they'd return one day. Now that she's gone away my other brother & l are really going to persue this. I think Mom really wanted to know but didnt want to face the outcome. Now that she's gone (rest her soul) my brother & myself are going to be on this!! Would appreciate ANY unknown info...
 
Hi from Southwest of Cleveland Ohio. I have many degrees in Criminal Justice and Pi degree. I pretty much research 24/7. I like my nickname because my 2 best friends (felines) one was murdered in 2011 and the other I practically cared for all his life had feline leukemia and passed away in 2005._what brought me to Websluths? Good question, a number of things in 2005,then my uncle went missing, that brought me closer to WS. I was abused as a child until I turned my father into the police in 2007. I believe that cold cases will be found, it just takes alot of researchers to find them all. Now I'm looking for a boy who went missing in April 23, 1972 Michael J. Woodward. I believe I found him, but the birthdays don't add up and its 6 months later in 1963.

My name is Linda Dunn. Screen name Lindun26. This is in response to a cold case from 1978. In 1978, my 16 year old cousin, Karen Whiteside was brutally murdered on her way on Spring break to stay the night with a friend. She never made it. Her body was found on school grounds by a janitor. Autopsy revealed she was 8 weeks pregnant. I have heard nothing in a while. She had been beaten and strangled. Her parents are buried next to her, and never lived to know who did this horrible crime. Her child would have lived to be about 38, and Karen about the age of 54. It still hurts not knowing who and why.

Hi, I'm Sandi. My mother disappeared in 1977 from Emmett, ID. The story is incredibly convoluted and a real challenge to lay out with any degree of clarity. The Thin Air Podcast did an episode about her a few months ago at the beginning of the year, which has brought it all rushing back again; both good and bad. A couple of years ago, the forensic unit of NamUs tried to get bones that were dug up from under the suspects' house for DNA retesting, but the Sheriff's department won't release them to her (won't so much as communicate with her, in point of fact). So I ended up at another forum, which links frequently to this one (I don't know what websites are blocked from here, so to be safe I won't post it). Honestly, I'm very intimidated and afraid about posting about her murder, because the case is so convoluted, bizarre, and confusing that people are often openly disbelieving about it.

But I just can't let it go. So I hope that maybe, if I'm a squeaky enough wheel, perhaps in time the bones will be retested and my mother will be finally laid to rest. Our lives together were stolen, and mine ruined, and the people who could help just don't seem to care at all... they don't want to be bothered with some old bones that may or may not belong to "some stupid prostitute" (which is how they treated her at the time--they didn't even search for her past the most cursory of checking her abandoned vehicle).

I'm quite vulnerable around the topic, as well, so it's hard and scary to put it out there... I've kept silent and protected myself as best I could. But by being silent, I was protecting those monsters, too... and I can't do that anymore. I have found one community to speak about it at, and they have been so immensely gracious and caring. I've been a bit more intimidated by WS, because I've seen some threads get a little, um, argumentative when I was linked to them. I really don't want to argue about my mother's death, as you might imagine.

Anyway, here I am. Hello to all. :)

I'll post a thread about her when I can, I have plenty of links and information. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/w/watson_marie.html I've asked to be verified, as well, so we'll see how that goes. Thanks all! :)
