I know, I noticed all that too. But I am wondering where the info with specific motel names came from. :waitasec:

Oh well, like I said, I'll just have to store it in the vault until I run across a more reliable source.

Apparently on July 10, 2009, she checked her voice mail from two motels in Massapequa, a Budget Inn and a Best Western. This is from NYT 1/26/11. The significance of this is that she apparently had multiple "dates" on LI and it is close to certain that she made the two Voicemail calls herself. This still places the SK in South Shore LI but not necessarily Massapequa.

The article brings up the mysterious house guest of JB, the 48 year old "drifter" who is apparently now in Georgia. He doesn't sound like Dr. HP.

I can't help thinking the SG is an "isolated incident" and may be harder to "solve" that Serial killings.

Back in Jan, there was mention of LE trying to connect MB with motels in Massapequa based on her phone records. I don't think any employees could ID her to confirm it (but it was in 2009 that she disappeared so A LOT of time had passed). I'll look for a link.

I really don't think they had anything to go on other than the location of the calls and the fact that she was an escort from out of town... that's why they canvassed hotels. Those are probably the two hotels in that area.

I'm thinking that part of the long 911 call was due to delusions and part due to someone actually grabbing Shannon. When she was screaming and naming someone she knows, that could be delusions. When she was telling someone to "stop it, get away from me" at the last, that was most likely happening. Surely the 911 operator was doing their job and asking what the person trying to grab her was driving. Maybe she had already gotten out from under the boat that the elderly guy saw her under, and was walking. She had to be delusional to not stand there and allow the elderly man to not help her.

BBM - you know Txsvicki, this is one of the things that has made no sense to me from the beginning of SG's story. If GC saw her hiding under the boat, and he went to confront the "Asian guy driving the black SUV", how the heck did they lose her?? I mean really!!! How far could she have gone with the "Asian guy" right after her like that. It makes no sense at all!!!

But why else would LE play the tape for her familif they didn't think the family could help in some way with why was on the tape. I can't think of another reason LE would play the tape for them

I'll give that GC is an older man and maybe his recollection isn't as sharp as it used to be, but it bothers me about the boat. In the video, GC says SG ran off into the weeds and he points in a direction that is in the opposite direction of where his boat is parked on his property. From what I can see (and depending where the driver was when GC was talking to him), if SG was under the boat and then ran in the direction he points, she would have had to be running somewhat in the direction of the SUV (unless the driver was up on Oak Beach Rd at that time).

This is the same video where GC initially says that SG said "they're trying to kill me" but when the reporter repeats GC's words, GC denies that statement and says SG said "help me, help me".

It would not have been a totally one-sided conversation with the 911 operator just listening to SG the entire time. The 911 operator was probably asking questions that SG was giving answers to, i.e. "Do you know who this person is ... what is happening right now ... " etc.

That was my thought. And if it was only to see if they knew the person she was talking about they could tell them the name without playing the whole tape.

I guess I need to really brush up on the TOS...I didn't realize we were not allowed to discuss something unless it's reported in "mainstream" media...So, I guess that means all the discussion on the calls, & basically everything from the findshannangilbert.com site is off limits??
 
Speaking of findshannangilbert.com, there's a really interesting radio interview on there with the lawyer (Robin Sax) who runs the site. She said she represents Shannan's family and explains the nature of the website and everything. I haven't finished listening to it yet but I know many of us are curious about the credibility of that site and it provides some insight.

That's what the TOS says. I didn't realize the phone list came from that site.

The best thing to do is probably send a message to Salem, who's been moderating this thread, and ask for an opinion about whether it's a site we can use. I'd do it, but I'm not going to be around tomorrow...

and on top of that, why would she be mentioning the driver is trying to kill me? lol that is ridiculous, she was just calling the driver over and over all night. she was calling the driver when she needed help. the driver also hung around to look for her even after the cops were called. and the driver came back the next day to continue to look for her. and the driver went to the police station to report her missing.

the driver is not the person she is saying is trying to kill her. construct a truth table or something.

It is amazing how LE are trying to cover up the fact the Mr. Dormer is basically being "retired" and the fact that Suffolk County LE ignored the SG disappearance for months, until recently.
They should be ashamed not about giving "too much information" but about ignoring the pleas of the Gilbert family for months and months.
Had they done a search at the time, the three bodies would have been found then, and Amber Lynn Costello's could have been spared.
 
Any one think this could be the work of a group? Religious and ritualistic practices. The occult maybe? I watched a video
