The address provided as the location of discovery appears to be adjacent to the Calumet River. However, it doesn't indicate whether the bones were found on the banks of the river or whether they were more inland.

If they were on the banks, then the Calumet River leads almost directly from the Bolingbrook area to that area.

Her listed height is a little shorter than the height estimate for the Jane Doe, but given the age, it would seem that she would be an obvious possible.

Was the clothing information there before?

White lace top.
White dress.
1 Glove
1 white sock.

Are there any thoughts on how long the bones were there? Or how dated those clothes may have been?

Helen Marie Green ran away in 1971 or 1972 from the south side of Chicago when she was 12 or 13. I have never found her in any missing databases. I was looking into someone else when I ran across some posts from her brother.

The clothing gives me the impression she was going to a party or church, but since I haven't seen any of it, that is really just a guess.

ETA: When I say party, I mean more like a family gathering.

If they meant a white glove like you'd wear with a white dress, it made me wonder about confirmation.

The Ninth Anniversary of Spring Doe’s discovery in Chicago is coming up April 28th, 2014. My “Vigil for Spring will be held that day. More details about the vigil will be released soon. If my nieces Diamond and Tionda are in a morgue somewhere unidentified, my hope is that someone there will do the same for them.

The chin/jaw on the recon is not at all like Erin's but when I stumbled across this Doe's photo for some reason it just made me think of Erin. Then I saw that she was found in Cook County and the age and height and timing match so I thought it was worth posting.

Sorry, I should have remembered apearn suggested Helen too back in April when we were still trying to get her listed. According to Help Spring Find Her Birth Family!
First news reports listed her as White/possibly Hispanic. She is listed as White on her NamUs profile. Between 13 and 18 years of age when they last saw her and between approximately 5’3″ and 5’5″ tall. Her teeth were natural with no fillings or cavities. Renowned anthropologist Dr. Clyde Snow could see characteristics of possible Asian or Native American ancestry in Spring.

Emily Craig has both of these cases. So I sent her an email requesting a comparison this morning. I explained that due to confidential information given to us by the Green family, we have reason to believe that these two may match.

she was missing girl from Bridgeport Connecticut. the facial features look a tad bit different but it could be her.
I didnt see her name on the rule out list on NamUs at all.

I modified the sculpture to give a rough estimate of how she might have looked.

This would just be a representation of her facial shape, and the hairstyle and color, and fine details of her facial features should not be relied upon.

And there is a Chicago connection.

However, there is DNA on both the UP and MP, so would there be a CODIS hit? I'm really not so sure anymore that we can presume that.

also, how do they know for sure is she's a white female? only her skeleton was found. she could have been black, Asian, or Hispanic.
