100 questions from the jury: Arias answering on her 16th day on the stand #75

Perhaps this is something that is affected by Jodi's selective memory. Many victims of sexual abuse repress these experiences because they are too horrifying to recall. It took my sister many years to come to terms with childhood sexual abuse by an uncle.

Who knows, but anecdotally her personality type is overrepresented as childhood sexual abuse victims.

Of course my mother did not: and I think Jodi Arias is a psychopath or a sociopath. I am offended by her exploitation. She does not act like someone who has been abused, not in any way, and yet she's claiming she was.

My point was never that JA is innocent, because she is not - not even by her own admission. I know this is a pro-victim site, and I am pro- the victim. I wish that Travis Alexander may rest in peace, but my issue was with the way some people have been treating TA like a saint and angel whose behaviour and the way it affects the case cannot be discussed at all.

You know what? You are absolutely right. Travis acted immaturely, was sometimes very self centered, and wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes as my boyfriend. I think we would probably be discussing his faults more if JA wasn't trying so hard to exploit and twist them to her benefit, and if what she did to him wasn't so terribly horribly awful. It's easy to elevate him to sainthood because she looks like such a demon in comparison. I appreciate your sharing what you knew was going to be an unpopular point of view - as a newbie, I haven't been brave enough to do it myself yet, lol. Thanks!

Good morning. I haven't caught up on posts from last night/this morning but have been wondering about this for a while: Has there been discussion here about whether or not Jodi might have been sexually abused as a child? I didn't start to follow the case in earnest until the trial started but don't recall such discussion. Talking heads seem to focus on Jodi's early physical abuse at the hands of her parents, but I haven't heard anyone address possible sexual abuse. Given Jodi's heightened sexuality, does anyone else think that childhood sexual abuse is a possibility?

IMO if JA had been sexually abused as a child we would have heard about in every sordid detail. She couldn't claim abuse with anyone she had left alive to refute her claim.

I have not followed the case as in depth as some of you, but there is absolutely nothing artistic or Calvin Klein-y about those shower pics IMO. Those look like straight-up stalker pics. Like she was darting in & out of the closet or standing in the bathtub reaching around, snapping random pics. Even the naked shot on the bed looks like she was hiding behind the chair in the corner. The face shot - it's hard to guess what expression one might have with water beating on your face, but that picture chills me to the bone. I see aggravation, fear, WTF, etc. Not typically expressions you see in the CK underwear ads.

I'm not equipped with a penis so it's hard for me to determine whether a person with one would send those "sociopath" & "things are going to get very bad for you" texts, then welcome that person into their bed when they show up unannounced a few days later.

... and don't forget yesterday's new testimony, that she placed her hand on the top shelf while retrieving the gun. Total contradiction to previous.

I'm sure LE didn't fingerprint the shelves, with nothing disturbed.

In mid panic mode, being chased by a naked wet man intent on killing her, and not one sock/shoe/belt/shirt/ad nauseum is out of place.

Seems reasonable. :floorlaugh:

I believe that as much as I believe Travis gave her a Cinnabon recipe on pink perfume scented paper.

:what:
I love it. Edifying your laundry into submission. Just read your post on the observers site from years ago about yours and Jordy's excellent adventure. That was awesome about the cement bag! And I never even knew about websleuths until this trial. So thanks for all the hard work even back then. Your friend, Jordy, does she post here and if so, what name does she go by?
Thank you. I will be looking for you in court this afternoon.

Now that was a wild ride,,,jordy does not post here but I'll tell her you said hi! She's not following this case but of course her local town prosecutor has her helping her do some informal PI work on a murder case in MS where she lives now ;)

I don't believe he was sitting there actually thinking about a 12-year old girl having an orgasm. People say weird things in the throws of passion. He was probably joking about the way psycho killer actually sounded like a pre-teen.
When I make reference to young people....I always us 12 as the age. Not sure why. I'll say 'stop acting like a 12 year old'. Or, 'he was giggling like a 12 year old girl'.

I really don't think that was significant.

But that is jmo

Personally I think JM should let JA ramble on while answering the questions (he objects too often). She is digging herself in a deeper and deeper hole with her long winded responses.

I agree with you!

Someone please correct me, but I thought that after saying Travis wasn't into Spiderman, then yapping awhile more, at the end Jodi threw in that Travis liked to dress up as Superman. Sheesh.

I need to correct myself: Travis liked to dress up as Spiderman, even though he didn't like Spiderman.

According to one of Travis friends he was in to another woman so much that he found her favorite dessert recipe on the Internet and made it for her. Apparently ms arias heard about this event so appropriated it as her own. :furious:

Apparently, she continues to have memory issues, um too many lies that can't be kept straight, in her scrambled little brain. I don't think it is possible to "pin her down" on any answer. :D

Has there been a distinction made between memory problems, brain scrambling and fog-induced, chihuahua shaking?

I just hope she slips in another gem like "obsessed." :D

Hey commspecialist. :seeya: I just wanted to say first and foremost you ARE welcome here. And don't take the replies as hate. A lot of these posters have been following the case for a long time. Discussion isn't hate!

That being said, it's hard to tell what state TA was in when he said that. Guys say stupid things. Once i put a hoodie over my husband's face and he told me I looked much better. He didn't mean it, and it hurt, but I knew he just said something stupid.

IMO, it is possible that TA said "you sound like a 12 y/o girl" and then suddenly realized that could hurt her feelings and added the "that's so hot" to soften the blow so to speak. I'm not saying that's what happened, I'm just saying one instance without any other evidence is kind of a stretch, just my :twocents:

LOL I took your husband's comment to mean you looked better than the hoodie :) I know my hubby has said some stupid things also.

I also thought the way Travis said "that's so hot" after the the comment "you sound like a 12 year old girl" was because he thought he had hurt JA's feelings.

I also think Travis sounded really bored with this conversation, he kept yawning
and he actually did fall asleep.

People who have spent hours talking with lawyers and a DV professional who are trying to figure a way to spare their life...she's a parrot.

I am interested in human nature, in what makes people tick. A jealous lover killing his or her partner is a crime but it is easier to understand. The punishment is there to fit the crime but it is the killers who appear remorseless, who are empty shells that intrigue me. Is there some way society can reach these people as kids, are there signs we can note and try to rehabilitate them as youngsters? Is it a physical abnormality in the brain or a chemical imbalance while en vitro?

I also want to see these types of killers brought to justice early on because at this point (until we understand more about the psychopathy) I believe that this type of killer will kill again.

Well I wish I and Mental Health Professionals could give you a hopeful answer.. unfortunately there isn't one.. Treatment is unsuccessful with them even in childhood. Management is about it.

These individuals are born this way. I truly hope with the study of DNA in all it's glory, we will find the gene in humans.

That would be so wonderful..
