Donald McQuade, 67, was convicted by a jury Tuesday of killing 16-year-old Shelley Connolly in 1978, after genetic genealogy linked him to the crime.

It took an Anchorage jury about two hours of deliberation to convict Donald McQuade, 67, of Gresham, Oregon, found guilty of first-degree murder and second-degree murder in the death of 16-year-old Shelley Connolly, who was last seen alive in the early morning hours of Jan. 7, 1978.

McQuade has been living in Gresham and has been free on bail for several years. After the guilty verdict, McQuade was handcuffed and taken back into custody with sentencing scheduled for April 26.

Unfortunately this won't get death for what he did...so sad...

Not only will he not get death (post from ‘19)…

This is infuriating. So he was free for the first 41 years after he committed the murder.. then free for the next 4-plus years - AFTER he was arrested.

Makes you wonder if he’ll ever even see jail. In any event, at 67, it’s too late for a full measure of justice. Him being free these last 4-plus years is a travesty imo. Maddening.
