** Just my initial thoughts - could Aleca be the mother of Rasmussen’s still-unidentified child??

Several things fit, IMO:

-TR, along with an unidentified female, last visited his family in Arizona sometime in December 1974 claiming to be living in Ingleside, TX (I don’t know when Aleca’s mother relocated)
- Aleca was last seen in Phoenix in February 1975
- Only 2 months (give or take) between both events

- Aleca sometimes went by “Lisa”, the same name TR went on to give Denise’s daughter

- Aleca is a biracial (White/Native American), Alaskan native. And bears a close resemblance to TR’s child

- The timeframe fits perfectly to the estimated time of birth for the UID

- Both TR and Aleca have ties to, at least, Texas and Phoenix, AZ

o_OI’m going to continue looking...I was surprised Aleca did not have a thread here (that I found)...her face has always stuck with me.

Just to note - the SSDI shows her SS Card to be signed “Leca Manning”. May not be helpful in finding her but I suspect that’s where “Lisa” came from...different spelling, same pronunciation. Which means I’ve probably been pronouncing “Aleca” incorrectly. FWIW

This is a tough one as she seems to have vanished. Some general questions: Are her friends still around? Can they provide any additional info? Was somebody bothering her at the concert? How was she planning on getting home? Was there anything of significance going on in her life at the time? Boyfriend? Where are you Lisa?

I may be able to get some information for you if you have questions. My father and her were close. Leca is my father’s first cousin. Of course she was adopted. Her adoptive mother, Norma Manning is my father’s aunt. Leca (they pronounced her name as “uh-Lisa” but she was always called Leca pronounced “Lisa”. She also used the name Lisa for simplicity. Norma Manning did move to Texas to be near her father sometime after Leca disappeared. Leca’s grandfather live in tiny Myra, Texas which is north of Dallas on the Texas/OK border.

I am under the impression that Norma lived in Arizona at the time of Leca’s disappearance.

What I wanted to say is that her mother would burst into tears if she was alive and knew that people still cared. There was not a single time that I saw her that she did not talk about Leca. She never got over her disappearance and lived a sad existence after Leca was gone. Leca was her life and they were extremely close

I do not think that Lisa was pregnant… And I’m just gonna use Lisa because I want to be able to dictate this rather than type on my tiny phone. I think that it is a coincidence but I will ask my father about it. Lisa was kind of a wild child and came from a family that had alcohol problems. Hence her adoption. The family that she went into also had problems. My grandmother who is Normas sister died of alcoholism as homeless person at YMCA.

So…Norma adopted her in Alaska. This is when Alaska was barely a state and it was still very wild. My aunt Norma was a tough woman and loved the wilds of Alaska. I seem to remember that maybe she was a pilot… I will have to verify that. My grandmother was so may I am getting that confused. I know that Norma had a very volatile relationship with her husband… maybe his name was Jack? and after they divorced or he passed away, norma and Lisa moved. I don’t know if Lisa ever lived in Texas but that is something I will find out. It seems like they would’ve left Alaska and gone to Texas first then Az. Because all of their family was in Dallas area or Myra.

I know that Lisa went to a concert with friends she got separated or possibly left with someone. No one seems to know who that was.

To the day she died Aunt Norma never got over this and turned into a bitter person. Completely understandable. She would always say “oh, my Lisa”.

Norma died before the Internet was like it is now. I know that she would call occasionally and follow up with the police in Arizona.

If you have any questions, let me know and I will ask my father.

I’m so glad you’ve found this thread. Leca has certainly not been forgotten! Do you have an theories as to what happened to her?

I don’t think there’s anybody alive that could tell us who she was with… I wonder what the police report says. Norma Manning is my great aunt. Norman Manning is sisters with my father’s mother. Leca (I will use Lisa so I can dictate). She would be very touched to know that people still care. Now that Norma is gone I look from time to time to see if there’s any updates and that’s how I found you all.

Everyone: Thank you for still caring and still wondering. Unless they find her body I don’t think we will ever be a piece together what may have happened. We, the family, always assumed that she came across a serial killer at that concert. She was friendly, a happy flower child, and probably a bit naive…too trusting. When they lived in Alaska it was still a very wild place and they lived in a close-knit group where there was no reason to distrust. Norma’s father lived in Myra, Texas. I think there’s maybe 20 houses in that town. I will say that alcoholism ran in Lisa’s family as well as Normas… My grandmother who is Norma sister died of alcoholism living homeless at a YMCA. And when Lisa was young Norma had a very volatile relationship with her husband. The left Alaska either to get away from him or because he died. Aunt Norma told me he was very abusive. It is possible maybe even probable that Lisa was doing drugs at the concert… which led to the separation from friends and her trusting somebody she shouldn’t have. Whoever she left that concert with is probably the person who killed her. Norma never got over Lisa’s disappearance and talked about her every time I saw her. She would repeat “ ohhh Lisa” often. I can still hear her saying that now. Norma and Lisa had a very close relationship.

If you guys have any questions, let me know and I will ask my father… I will try to find out what I can

Her family thinks that a serial killer got her and that she probably left with him. And there is a possibility but she was taking drugs at night. We have always felt that her body is somewhere in the desert. The only good thing I can say is I know that they were united now I don’t believe this because of religion but because of physics and the fact that everything in life is waves of energy… Matter cannot be destroyed it can only be changed. I feel like they found each other again. I was born in January 1975 and I never met Lisa or if I did I was less than two months old. She still has an effect on my life because I’m still thinking about her. Her and I look eerily similar at the same age. I feel like I’m just checking up to see what’s going on because I’m carrying the torch for aunt Norma. Incidentally, I graduated high school in Tucson Arizona. I wanted to go see Morrissey in concert in Phoenix when I was 17… I was not allowed to go without my stepmother. I don’t think my dad’s forgotten what happened to Lisa either

I’ll put this in perspective… We used to drive 45 miles south to Mexico…me and fiends but I was not allowed to go to Phoenix without my stepmother. It’s a long time ago and I probably never asked permission. When we were hitting the clubs at night but we also went during the day too. And I definitely would’ve asked if we were going during the day

I forget how close Mexico is.

One more thing I don’t think that Lisa would have run away and never contacted her mom again… There was no reason. The way Norma described the relationship it was these two against the world and that she was a precious wonderful little girl. Lisa was the center of Normas life

Oh I get what you mean. So it would’ve been easy to get her down to Mexico… When I was going down in the 90s you could drive through without even having to identify yourself… When we would visit we would walk across the border and coming back the only thing we had to say is that we were a US citizen… They never check IDs or anything. This was decades before they had the requirement that you have to have one of those NATO ID cards or a passport. Seems like Phoenix is maybe two hours or an hour and a half north of Tucson. We used to go down to Rocky point … The Spanish name is Puerto Peñasco. Seems like is about three hours from Phoenix… That is right at the top of the sea of Cortez it’s a beautiful little beach village. When we would go to Rocky point from Tucson we would drive up to Phoenix and then cut over from there… It would be very easy to talk her into going down there for a little overnight trip and then she is gone forever.

If you guys know somebody who speaks Spanish you might check to see if there is an unidentified young lady matching Lisa’s description from 1975 in Porto Penasco, Mexico or Nogales, Mexico. Puerto Peñasco is closer to Phoenix… And there’s nothing between the border and the little beach resort town. If she passed out she could easily be taken down to Mexico before she ever woke up and the border agents would just let an American car across without asking questions

So… I’ve had some time to think. I’m gonna find someone who can help me contact to Mexico cold cases and see if there’s anything there… I live in Texas it won’t be a problem and I speak some Spanish as it is. It’s gonna take a while but I will update at some point when I have more information.

Me, having never met Lisa feels driven to try to do my part to help my aunt and my family. You guys don’t have any reason to care Yet you do. Not just about Lisa but everybody else and I think that’s really beautiful. Y’all are unsung heroes. Never lose your love for thy neighbor. This world is so cruel and we all seem so divided nowadays but it’s people like you guys that give me hope.

Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help! Good luck. <3

I remember reading somewhere on Namus about female remains found in Southern? California that had moss green pants. I'm not sure if the timeline matches up but if I can find it I'll post it here
