AZ - BRYAN PATRICK MILLER - Victims: Angela Brosso & Melanie Bernas, Serial Killer 1992-1993 *Guilty, sentenced to death*

I just don't know of any evidence that he did that, no one has come forward saying he dressed up as or tried to impersonate police. He was into Steampunk and geeky comic book stuff. It might fool someone from a distance in the dark, but that doesn't appear to have been his MO. We have four crimes from him that all share very common characteristics -- his MO is clearly a sneak attack with a knife in a secluded area -- maybe offering to help, give a ride, then seizing the opportunity.
It sounds to me like he enjoyed being a pretend cop. (See Tarabull's post here) Killers have been known to step up, or change around, their MO's. To be fair, we don't know exactly what MO he used in the two bike trail murders, and from what we know of the other two stabbings, the circumstances were somewhat different. But you said it yourself, he was an opportunist, one who might have trapped his victims under the guise of "offering to help"; or to "give a ride". And who better to do that than a LEO? Or an individual posing as one? It's a relatively common occurrence, and you can bet it hasn't escaped the thoughts of the investigators on this case.

JMO
The person who shot two people to death along Mississippi highways possibly while dressed as a police officer is likely a meticulous and organized killer who studied police procedures and could soon feel the urge to kill again, according to a serial killer expert.

"It is not unusual for certain types of killers, particularly organized killers, to have an interest in, and even study, law enforcement practices," Scott A. Bonn, professor of sociology at Drew University, told The Huffington Post.

[...]

Posing as an officer, he added, can also "fulfill a fantasy need of the killer and give him a sense of power, control and authority."

Henry Terry pretended to be Sgt. Terry, a Long Island cop, when he was really an ex-con who allegedly committed a reign of horror.

He [Bundy] was also known to impersonate authority figures, such as police officers and firefighters.

Do you think he resembles the sketch? The man in the sketch appears to be in his early 20s. This man is in his early 40s and he looks his age.

I do think he resembles the sketch, and I don't think he looks like he is in his forties. I don't think it's likely he is that suspect.

I know on the zombie hunter fb a woman claims he followed her in that car. Not sure of the validity of that claim, but I do not think it's out of the realm that he could have used that car for nefarious purposes. I know here in dallas, tx area we have lots of toll areas and the north texas transit authority has vehicles they use that do not have the red/blue lights and I was stopped by them once(apparently I had a dog leash hanging out of the back of my jeep and they were concerned for my pet, but my dog wasn't on the leash, I had just shut it in the door) ...so it's not absurd to think someone would stop for a car that had lights flashing regardless of the color. I think it would be a huge risk for him to take with the obvious markings on his car. Do we know how long he had the car before transforming it into it's current style?

If this has been asked/answered, I apologize.

What are the color of lights on HIS car? And what are the colors that cops use?

I live in AZ. And out by me, seems to be a popular area for LE to live. We have several neighbors that are sheriffs, cops, DPS, and undercover LE. They all drive different models of patrol cars, trucks, SUV's and undercover regular cars, i.e. camaros and chargers. I have seen blue & white, yellow & white, red & blue and red & white combos of flashers.

All this to say, If a car was behind me with flashing lights, (whether on top of the car, or on the front of the vehicle) I would assume it was legit and pull over. I don't think I would even notice or question what COLOR the flashings lights were.

I *think* cops are the only ones allowed to use red/blue flashers together. I think they may have the option to use just red, or just blue, because I have seen different patterns before. But, like you said, the average person being pulled over would stop for any flashers. Maybe not us websleuthers because I think we tend to be more aware of the dangers, but most people wouldn't think twice, at least that's what I believe.

And, at night, when it's dark, you cannot clearly see the writing on a car behind you.

Hi MissMidge,

IMO some features of the sketch resemble BPM :moo: ears, nose, bottom lip, facial hair, not the shape of the glasses but wearing glasses...fwiw.

There were comic cons held in Austin TX in November of 2013. ETA: YES there are tolls - map: https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/Phoe...64bd469d57a!2m2!1d-97.7430608!2d30.267153!3e0

I noticed he took road trips to attend certain events (ie: SIMA, Las Vegas)...

Regardless, with all the evidence laid out on white sheets in his yard, it seems LE is working all possibilities - left right & sideways.

It appears the lights on his car are amber, white & green https://www.facebook.com/ArizonaZom...0.1423155086./693414814108530/?type=3&theater

Phoenix Police send cadaver dogs to former residences of alleged serial killer
February 5, 2015

snipped & bbm...
...FOX 10 asked [name removed by tarabull] if police used the word serial murderer? "Yes, and with the degree, the way they were killed they said they were looking for more, they were expecting more," she said.

[name removed by tarabull] says police said they planned to use cadaver dogs to search four Phoenix homes where Miller lived in the 80's, 90's, and 2000's.

Who's Gerard Schaefer and what's his connection to BPM?

No direct connection. He was a SK and LEO who used his LE uniform and car to lure victims. I posted a link to his thread the other night. Now the link has changed. That's all. :)

Ahh ok. Never heard of him so I had no clue. Thanks. :)

Everyone on facebook has probably seen people posting pictures of their past on Thursdays known as Throwback Thursdays (TBT). I know we have all seen pictures of what the suspect looks like today but he did post a picture of what he used to look like on one TBT on facebook. This is probably more of what he looked like back in 1992. I wonder if there were any police descriptions of murders or missing people back then that might have looked like this

This picture reminds me of a suspect sketch I have seen in the past For a missing or murdered child. I just can't recall who it was. Even the necklace looks familiar. Gonna have to rack my brain on this one. :(

I'll have to take your word for it, but I'm wondering if the car approached you from the rear at night, say out on the highway, with a flashing light on the dashboard; and you glanced in your rearview mirror, would you be certain it was not an actual LE cruiser?

In one of these pics, he has on dark navy clothes that look like the police: at pennlive.com. For some reaso. I can't paste the link.
