I would love to know if you have any idea why they allowed her to have custody of Jackson after she tried to kill him the first time.

Hello there. Their father didn't dispute her motion to be granted full custody of Jackson. When he moved to Montana he became mostly detached from the boys and had to be prompted to contact them. I do think he loves them but he is very much an out of sight out of mind type of person in all aspects of his life. I suspect he has a personality disorder but I can't be sure of that. He tends to be violent toward women, I am positive about this, so I suspect that he had been violent toward Sherri at times but I do not know that for sure. If that was the case however I can't imagine it helped her mental state throughout the years.

@Niner Sorry for the delay. Was out of town for the long weekend. The court trial found her “Not Guilty - Reason of Insanity” on Friday 6/30. There is a placement hearing on 8/3/2023 at 8:30 am in Department 17. I’ll check in on 8/4 with an update.

Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (PC 1026)
Persons judged by the court to be guilty of a crime, but not guilty because they were insane at the time of the crime are committed to a state hospital for treatment for a period equal to the maximum sentence for their most serious offense, subordinate offenses and enhancements. The ultimate goal is for the patient to reintegrate into the community with an increased awareness of their role within society and to take responsibility for personal and public safety. The focus of treatment for this population involves helping the patient development insight into their mental illness and how the symptoms of mental illness led to the commission of a crime. Further, the patient must also demonstrate the ability to safely and effectively manage the symptoms associated with their mental illness.
