That is a powerful statement. Anyone know if there is any validity to it?

I suspect it's probably valid. It's the kind of things people who try to use sovereign citizenship do, and that the Billings considered themselves sovereign citizens has been proven on this board through links to documents.

IN MY OPINION

This is the link in PNJ that has a list of all of the home invasions/homicides in P'cola for the year. I have checked out several of the victims at the clerk of the court and some of them have pages of charges. The charges range from dealing in stolen pawn shop property, drugs, etc. I am trying to see if any of the victims have myspace pages to see if any of these victims have same friends the "perps" in this crime. Just trying to find connections.

One more time, will someone please clarify whether it IS or IS NOT okay on this forum to share an opinion, particularly if specified as "IMO?" I thought it was, but apparently some think not. Just need some guidance here.

My only interest in this past case was one or more names in the drug connection. I don't enjoy watching my hometown dragged through the mud again. I think it has been established that DEA and others are involved with the investigation of the monsters that commited this horrible act. These monsters are off the streets but if, through this, others can be caught, I think it is worth the effort to look for any connection, whether the victims were aware of it or not. We either look for any connection or we don't. Can't have it both ways.

Thanks for your reply, Oleone.

Yes, I absolutely agree that we need to look for connections to this horrible crime. But, can you provide a link and more details about the part bolded by me?

This has been asked, but don't think it was ever answered. CNN or one of the news stations reported it was Hugh on the yacht with PLW the day she was caught.
You know...I think I recall hearing that as well although I don't remember seeing him in any of the pics posted online at PNJ when they were leaving the marina in Orange Beach. And isn't he the one who is trying to divorce her? If this is the case...it doesn't seem like he's been trying too hard if he's still hanging around her so much. Sorry if I have my facts mixed up! I know the woman has been married umpteen times so I may have the wrong dude.

It's all still there in the article ablout Ashley:

<snip>
And several years ago, Billings attempted a bizarre legal scheme that included demands for millions of dollars in silver coins from the Florida Department of Children and Families.
<snip>
One unexplained blemish on Billings' past involves a bizarre scheme he started early this decade that aimed to make millions by apparently copyrighting his children's names.

About 2003, he began filing dozens of confusing documents that attempted to copyright his children's names, then demanded millions of dollars for copyright infringements when government agencies used those names.
The documents, obtained from the Escambia County Clerk of Court and the Florida Department of Children and Families, reference "genocide acts," maritime law and "corporate fictions.'' He signed one purported affidavit "Byrd Billings, Agent, Attorney in Fact, With the Autograph, Non-Domestic."
DCF attorney Katie George said every time the agency addressed a letter to Billings that included his children's names, he would reply with an invoice demanding millions of dollars in copyright infringement.
Generally, he demanded silver coins or federal reserve notes of equal value. After nearly two years, Billings began addressing invoices to DCF employees at their homes, and a DCF lawyer sent Billings a sharply worded letter warning him that legal action against him was a possibility.
"At no time in any of your correspondence have you made a plain demand for damages under a clear and cognizable theory of liability," Assistant District Legal Council Richard Cserep wrote in a Dec. 9, 2005, letter.
After that letter, Billings stopped sending invoices.
<snip>
When asked if she was aware of Byrd Billings' copyright claims, Ashley said he had mentioned copyrighting the children's names to her but said the goal was to protect their privacy.
Ok...may the dead rest in peace, but this is just plain bizarre.

He worked at the Chrysler store on 29 before the current owner, owned it. This was back in the late 90's. And I want to say he was in sales, not warranty (for Chrysler). NO I did not work with him, a family member did.

Did that ex-doctor own that? I can't recall his name Stonaker? maybe

I think it would be more about vindicating the Realtor Pamala Long because of the mix up with Pamala Long Wiggins.
.
The Realtor Long got pretty shaken up from the media blitzing onto her from the confusion of the frenzy about the case.

I might be willing to believe that if the National Association of Realtors' press release had mentioned misidentification or confusion with another person. The bulk of the press release explains that Realtor is their trademarked term.

Of course it's ok to share what you're thinking.

I know some people are questioning the relavence to this other murder. HOWEVER, I will state that some of us are looking into this and it IMO IMO, could have a tie due to a much BIGGER and broader picture going on this this town ! IMO IMO!!!!!!!!!!

What is the name of the person of the other murder? Can you post it? I would like to delve into it. Thanks!

The only picture I've seen is when PLW and him (Hugh) were being escorted from the yacht. Hugh is the long hair (dirty blond) man in that picture.

Please provide some links and details.

Not directed at you Oleone, but I REALLY hope this thread has not turned into let's look at some of P'Cola's scandals/big cases (and we've had several) and let's throw it out there and see what sticks.

JMHO.

I agree with you. This town does have some VERY old stories, crimes, scandals that have nothing to do with this.

Question(s) .......??

There's the death of an adopted son, choking/suicide(?) - when?? How old was he at the time of his death?

There's the death of an adopted son, burn victim (bathtub accident), who died as a result of an air bubble in an IV while being treated in TX for those burns - in 2004, I believe .. ?

There's the death of MB's bio daughter, who had CP ... last year. Anyone know the cause of her death? What was her age at the time of her death?

I don't think anyone is looking into the other home invasion because of two victims named Ashley....

but two home invasions in the same area is something that people could logically look at.....

maybe a link...

maybe not....

Highly doubtful, IMO. There have been numerous shootings, burglaries, and a couple break ins/home invasions in the area. I mean area as in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

People commute/live/travel between both counties almost as if they were one in the same. BUT, most of the shootings have been either 1) a domestic violence shooting or 2) drive bys that were in retaliation to another instance. Most of those shootings have been on the west side of unincorporated Pensacola (Myrtle Grove/Fairfield/Blue Angel/Bellview areas), and not that close to the Billings "area."
