Karun (21 @ time of crime/53/now 56) charged (12/14/19 in Maine-Federal ) & indicted (11/6/19) & arraigned (12/14/19) with possessing a gun with an obliterated serial number, stemmed from allegedly owning a rifle that had its serial number filed away. Plead not guilty.
Police found 60 weapons & 15,000 rounds of ammunition in his Stetson home. As a convicted felon not legally allowed to own firearms.
*Indicted (3/10/21 in Maine-Federal) charged & arraigned (5/18/21) with possession of child p0rnography. Plead not guilty.
Trial was set to begin on 11/8/22 continued on 5/2/23.

10/17/22 Update: On July 19, 2021, this Court denied the Defendant’s motion to dismiss the indictment in the above matter & set the case for jury selection on August 4, 2021. As a result of ongoing pretrial development in companion case 1:21-CR-28-LEW, the above-captioned matter has been continued to the trial period beginning November 8, 2022. Defense counsel filed a motion to suppress evidence in 1:21-CR-28-LEW & that motion remains pending before the Court. The parties currently anticipate that any sentencing in these matters will occur in the same proceeding at a time following resolution of the motion to suppress evidence in 1:21-cr-00028-LEW. The defendant waives his rights under the Speedy Trial Act & consents to the exclusion of time until January 3, 2023. It is hereby Ordered that: 1. The parties’ joint motion is hereby GRANTED. 2. The time period between November 8, 2022 & January 3, 2023, is hereby excluded from calculations under the Speedy Trial Act, Title 18, United States Code, Section 3161 et seq. So Ordered. As far as I know the Federal trial is just beginning - jury selection I would think. But I did notice he has to be in court in CT tomorrow for Kathleen's case - so the jury selection might be put off for a day.

I have not been able to find any articles on this.

Plead not guilty. $5M bond.
DNA Match; Karun faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole if convicted.
*Was in federal custody in his home state of Maine U.S. District Court where he is accused of illegally storing an arsenal of firearms (60 weapons & 15K rounds of ammunition); in total, Karun owned 34 pistols, 14 rifles, 11 revolvers & one 12-gauge shotgun.
Trial was set to begin on 8/2/22 & 8/3/22 with jury selection has been continued with no further dates.
