Hey Websleuthers :)

Oftentimes, 'no news is good news' but that doesn't seem to fit here.

Sorry to report that there hasn't been anything more mentioned in our local media about the Kesses or Jenn's disappearance over the Easter weekend.

Stand by for a public service announcement tommorrow, Tuesday, April 18, 2006 by the Kesse family!

I was hoping that we could get some help with our list of suspects that we have compiled. It was hard work and it took a lot of weeding through news stories and interviews, but we firmly beleive it has to be someone close to the family.

I too, questioned the whereabouts of Logan as I did not see him on any corners holding up signs....hmmmmm

Thanks for the help!

Please, walk us through your theory.

Both WFTV (Channel 9) & WKMG (Local6) newscasts carried a short segment on the latest turn of events regarding Jennifer's disappearance and her parents plight in their appeal for help in finding her.

Drew & Joyce have enlisted the assistance of an attorney in creating a 30 second public service announcement to run on local TV stations. This is a new tact in the family's effort to generate some new leads.

In the announcement - attorney David Bigney (sp?) appeals to the viewers that "if" they have information to share - they should call 'an attorney' as their information & identity may be afforded the protection of atty-client privilege laws.

Drew Kesse's soundbite from the TV news film clip ..

"Someone should take advantage of going to a lawyer immediately - if you are afraid - if you are illegal or if you have problems with the police already."

As I previously reported in another post - the Kesses desperately want their daughter back .. even if her perpetrator is never prosecuted for her abduction. They have learned & understand that - for whatever reason - there is a segment of the Orlando community that does not feel comfortable interacting with LE and may never come forward 'to do the right thing' unless protection & anonymity is provided.

In addition to traversing all the normal channels with the police investigation, community searches, doing intervIews both locally & nationally - the Kesses also have the "Find Jennifer Kesse" internet site, have advertised a snail mail P.O. box address for anonymous tips and have set up a separate cell phone line specifically for 'that one important caller' to have a way to directly & personally contact them. The Kesse SUV is in itself - "a moving billboard" - and every day during 'rush hour traffic' so are both Joyce & Drew as they wearily hold up their poster signs of their missing daughter while traffic traverses the busy intersection. Thus far - nothing has worked to bring in that much needed information.

The OPD was contacted by the reporter and while the department would not comment directly on the Kesse case - they made it clear that they did not want 'someone with info' to be protected from LE or possible prosecution by an attorney-client privilege.

They obviously prefer tips & info to go through Crimeline & LE channels. Law enforcement officials want the case solved too - but, with the arrest & conviction of the perp.

One of the newscasts said that Joyce was going back to work - so I imagine that means leaving Orlando and returning to Bradenton fairly soon. Nothing was said this evening if Drew still intended to go on 'temporary disability and remain here (Jenn's condo) in Orlando.

Joyce said that they had to go on with their lives but had not given up hope in finding Jennifer. They're both hopeful that this PSA on TV will generate the tip or tips they so desperately need.

this is such a sad case, as all missing persons cases are. this was a lovely young woman with her whole life ahead of her. i can only try and imagine the anguish her family is feeling at this time. prayers to all affected by this tragedy.

Thank You 13th Juror for your updates. I don't know what we would do or ever know without your 'local' reports. :blowkiss:

After three months and no relevant tips, Jennifer's disappearance and the investigation appears to be getting colder and colder. I believe the Kesses have tried everything they can think of, short of organizing searches. I don't think it would be such a bad idea of re-searching the areas which LE had previously searched tho.

My heart and prayers go out to the Kesse Family and all the families of missing loved ones.

13th Juror ,

I agree I too would like to know where Logan has been and if he is still in the Central Florida area, because even with the little news that is coming up about Jennifer's case, you still see Drew, Joyce, and Rob, with nearly no mention of Logan. Its strange to me is all. Anyone have any theories or opinions about it I would love to hear some.

Lamer ,

I also agree with you I think they should begin re-searching the places they have done already, it couldnt hurt you know? Maybe something was missed .

Well, I do feel sorry for them. He doesn't have to know it though. Or maybe it is empathy that I feel. How can we not feel something when Jennifer has been gone a while now...there are no clues as to where she may be or who may have taken her...she just disappeared. Her family is doing everything that they can think of to find her but nothing is happening.

Is she an only child I wonder? Isn't he a detective?

That is good that they are holding on to hope. That is what keeps them going. Personally I think it will be a miracle if Jennifer is found alive. I wish I could believe that someone is holding her somewhere but I don't think that is the case. No one has asked for a reward. A person of Jennifer's age can't be hidden away never to see the light of day. I guess it just doesn't seem logical to me.

I don't understand why the Kesse's don't ask for help in holding their signs up there on the road. There are probably people who would be more than willing to take a turn so that they can take a break. I hope they aren't pushing people away.

Hi BobbisAngel :)

I hope you don't mind that I brought your post over here to the "discussion thread" rather than respond on the 'news info & support' thread. WS Mods have repeatedly requested that discussion be limited to this thread or it will be deleted.

Like you - I feel tremendous empathy for the Kesse family. Tremendous! Their burden and grief is 'simply unimaginable' to those of us who have never experienced this kind of horrific ongoing nightmare. I'm so inspired by their strength and perseverance - but, am bewildered as to how they manage to get out of bed every morning and begin their tireless efforts all over again. I'm not sure I wouldn't have had a complete & total meltdown by now.

To answer your question - No, Jenn is not an only child. She has a younger brother, "Logan" - who, I believe, also lives in the vicinity of his parents in the Bradenton area. (Fla West Coast)

I know that Joyce Kesse is in the nursing profession - not sure in what capacity. Drew's employment was briefly mentioned quite some time ago, but I honestly cannot remember what it was. I do not believe he is a detective as I would have remembered that. And trust me - much more would have been made of his occupation in our local media. Whatever his occupation - he has done an outstanding job here of "stepping up - rising to the occasion" and speaking out in advocacy for his daughter with both the media & the public. He's been his daughter's champion.

Yesterday (4/21) - Joyce & Drew addressed a group of UCF students in a scheduled appearance at the UCF Student Union. They spoke about "Women's Safety Issues" - and, of course, about Jennifer and what they have been forced to deal with for the past 3 months. Jenn is a 2003 UCF alumni graduate.

From what I could see - there was a good student turnout .. of mostly young women, naturally. Joyce had some difficult emotional moments in the beginning .. couldn't continue with her thoughts as her voice was breaking with overwhelming emotion. Drew quickly took over for her until she had regained her composure. They both did an admirable job getting their points across about women "always keeping vigilant and creating a zone of safety for themselves - no matter what age they are".

The students listened intently as the Kesses spoke .. wearing their hearts on their sleeves. At the conclusion of the seminar - most, if not all, of the students took the opportunity to visit the "Find Jennifer Kesse" table set up in the back of the room with posters, flyers & 'safety issues info'. It's my sincere hope that there were some attendees who would have felt compelled to volunteer some of their time & assistance in the Kesses plight to find Jennifer - but, I don't know that to be true.

BobbisAngel - I am also of the opinion that Jennifer, most likely, will not be found alive. :( I hate even verbalizing that sentiment - but sadly, I've felt that way for quite some time. (That whole area of Orlando where Jenn disappeared & where her car was located is .. IMO - a very dangerous high crime & drug infested area.) That doesn't mean I don't share the Kesses hope & prayers that she is found alive & safe - as I know, we all most certainly do.

Regarding Jenn's parents - they are not stupid or delusional people. Even with all their monumental efforts to find her - I'm sure they logically know that the chances are rather slim for this 'mysterious disappearance' of their beautiful daughter to be resolved favorably. However - with no evidence of a death, a violent struggle, a rape or even any viable tips to her alleged abduction or current whereabouts - it is incumbent upon them to 'think positively', support one another and never give up hope that she will be safely returned to them.

I so hope for the most positive outcome - but if that is not to be .. I truly hope that at least Jenn will be 'found' so her family will have some sort of closure. The "not knowing" has to be even more draining and emotionally devastating. Some families wait years for answers - and for some .. answers never come. The Kesses deserve to know what happened to their precious daughter and allowed to begin the long healing process.

With hope, prayers & sadness for Jenn's family ..

I'm still hoping to share joyous news with all of you guys here on WS. 'If Only' the Kesses would receive that one call that would bring Jennifer home safe and sound ... if only.

Hi PhillyGirl ...

Sorry .. I cannot offer any substantial theories regarding the whereabouts of Logan. As for an opinion - well, I would imagine that his parents have probably requested that Logan take on some additional responsibilies on the homefront since they cannot be there themselves. (Much to handle in caring for one's home.) Perhaps, Logan is attending college classes or has a job he cannot afford to vacate. Perhaps, in this time of grieving for his sister - he needs more space & privacy than the media & public would afford him. Just don't know ...

I have to admit that a few weeks ago when none of the 'tips' were bearing fruit - I allowed my suspicious mind 'a bit of a free-for-all' for about an hour or so. In my head - I explored the possibilities of someone much closer to Jenn than an unknown perp, a zoned-out druggie, a construction worker, a 3rd party sub-contractor, a maintenance person, a Mosaic resident, a visitor of another Mosaic resident, a fast food delivery person, a vengeful business associate, a jealous ex-boyfriend or an acquaintance.

Early in the investigation, I had ruled out the Kesse parents & Rob Allen. That was a no-brainer. 'Logan' was never on my radar screen but as he became less & less visible in the media, I began to have nagging questions. Where was Logan? So as my mind took this 'imaginary field trip' .. I began questioning the sibling relationship and possible rivalry between Jenn & her brother. I had so many questions about 'Logan' - but no definitive answers.

When my brain returned to 'normal' (whatever-that-is!) I realized that surely our LE officers had thoroughly scrutinized and checked out the whereabouts (and alibis) of all those closest to Jennifer that could even remotely be considered as a possible abductor. With this comforting thought in mind - I canned any further outrageous prospective theories of Logan or 'Travis', his best friend from childhood - the one who forgot his cell phone.

Quite honestly - I felt guilty and ashamed of myself for even considering the 'brother concept' and don't want to go there again. I'm sure there's a very good reason why Logan is not more visible ..'media-wise'. Perhaps he's assisting behind the scenes. We just don't know the decisions the family made concerning Logan's role or why. In light of all that their family is going through on daily basis - I can certainly accept and respect their decisions.

Was the subject of a "fifth wheel" type explored? Maybe an acquaintance of the brothers who was not invited on the trip, who was jealous for some reason. Maybe angry about not being included, or over a female type relationship? I really think you need to look deep into the timing of this abduction. I am just very uncomfortable with the timing.

i can see several scenarios where the timing is KEY. for example, a worker there at the condo complex has become obcessed with jennifer and then suddenly she "vanishes" (while she is on vacation) and he feels abandoned. he fis angry that she has left him and he fantasizes that if he is ever lucky enough to see her again he will make sure she will never leave him.

additionally i have thought about a "jilted" lover (either hers or her new boyfriend). or perhaps someone from her work with a case of unrequited love (sp) carried to the extreme. i personally think a stranger on stranger abduction is slim.

Tomorrow - Monday, 4/24 - The Kesses will anounce a new more substantial reward amount for information of Jennifer's whereabouts.

They are hoping the higher amount will encourage 'someone' to come forward.

Details of the reward were not being made public tonight. All the family would say is that it is 'a large reward'.

Since the anonymous donor pulled back his $100,000. amount a number of weeks ago - the reward fund has been sitting at $15,000.

More tomorrow ....

Noon News - WFTV Channel 9 - April 24th

Well - it's definitely a 'substantial sum'!!

David Siegel of Westgate Resorts - Jennifer's employer, has upped the 'Reward Fund" to a quarter of a million dollars for the SAFE return of Jennifer.

This is a limited time offer of 1 MONTH. This additional reward money expires on May 24th and it is reported that will not be repeated.

"Someone with information" can call Crimeline ~ 1-800-423-TIPS - the Kesses private direct 'cell phone' line (407 - 722-2162) - or make contact through an attorney of the caller's choice and still be eligible for the $250,000 reward.

Siegel said .. "You can call it a reward or ransom but the reward is only for Jennifer's SAFE return." ("Safe" being the operative word!)

The news conference was held today with Mr. Siegel, Drew & Joyce Kesse and Jenn's boyfriend, Rob Allen (holding Joyce's other hand).

Let's hope this produces the prayed for results!

I'm with you 13 Juror, let's pray our  'prayers' are heard and Jennifer will be found alive. Miracles do happen! We need one here.

I read another article where Mr. Siegel said:

"I've been watching this family for three months standing on street corners and beating the bushes and doing everything they can to get her back and I feel terrible what they are going through and I wanted to put up this reward."

Plus a video is available.

LaMer - thanks for posting the Local6 website article. :blowkiss:

Here's another link and some excerpts from the WFTV - Channel 9 website article. I was posting earlier while watching the newscast and my 'senior memory' just couldn't remember all the specific quotes from Siegel. <LOL>

WFTV.com - UPDATED: 12:42 pm EDT April 24, 2006

ORLANDO, Fla. -- There's a new reward for information leading to the safe return of Jennifer Kesse. The Orlando woman was reported missing three months ago.

<<<Snipped>>>

Late Monday morning, Kesse's parents announced the reward, a quarter of a million dollars.

Jennifer's boss at Westgate Resorts said it's a small price to pay for her safe return. Orlando time share mogul David Siegel joined the Kesse family for Monday morning's announcement after putting up the money on behalf of the Westgate Resorts.

The family said they believe Jennifer is still alive.

<<Snipped>>>

Massive searches of the area turned up nothing, and that's why Jennifer's family says there's no evidence to show she isn't alive. And, of course, they want to believe that she will come home.

David Siegel said you can call the quarter of a million dollars a reward, or a ransom. It will only be available for one month and it is only for Jennifer's safe return.

Jennifer's parents said they don't care about a prosecution or conviction, they just want Jennifer back.

There is also still a $15,000 Crimeline reward for information leading to an arrest.

Side Note: I believe there is still a $10,000 reward still being offered for info on the POI in the photograph.

13th Juror :)

I hope that someone who knows something decides that the reward looks pretty good and decides to say something. I don't know how well rewards work. I don't think I've ever known of someone turning another person in for the reward with the exception of my daughter's killer's brother and sister-in-law. Maybe it happens but we just don't hear about it.

13th Juror....No, Jennifer's dad isn't a detective. The dad detective is the father of the girl who went missing from the casino...Christie Wilson.

I don't know how the Kesse's keep going day in and day out. They are drawing on a reserve of stength from somewhere. In situations like this you do what you have to do and for them that is trying to find their girl. It has to be so frustrating. I too hope that Jennifer is found one way or the other. To never know what happened to my daughter or never know where she is would be more then I think that I could stand.

I want to throw this out there for anyone that worked at Westgate with Jennifer and might have any ideas about coworkers.

If you have any information relating to Jennifer about the people she might have had contact with at work, please join in on the discussion.
