*Status Hearing (@ 9:30am ET) – FL – Nubia Barahona (10) (missing Feb. 11, 2011, W. Palm Beach, found Feb. 14, 2011 soaked with chemicals in the back of her father’s truck along side Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County), (Victor (10) injured; had acid thrown on him; he was released from hospital 3/2/11) – *Jorge L. Barahona (43/now 55) (adopted father) arrested (2/12/11), charged (3/7/11), indicted (3/23/11) & arraigned (4/13/11) with 8 felony counts of aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm, 8 felony counts of child neglect & attempted murder (Victor) & charged (3/7/11) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. $1M bond. DA will seek DP.
Trial was set to begin on 4/6/20 reset for 6/15/20 & cancelled due to guilty plea on 9/20/20 & now has new attorneys, plead not guilty on 1/7/21.
Trial set to begin on 3/16/23.

How can he? He will probably be dragged into this trial. He has probably been dogged his entire life for statements about his abuse. It is allowing the perpetrator to virtually control his life from behind bars.

Right ,just reading this thread has had an impact, I cant picture being okay after actually living it. I pray he feels love now, and feels safe.

Still do not understand why Carmen is included with these hearings & has a trial date - as she plead guilty back in 2011. ??

Who knows with this case?! So many of the motions are sealed. Like this is a case of national security instead of a killer/torturer of children.

Barahona (43/now 55) “adopted father” arrested (2/12/11), charged (3/7/11), indicted (3/23/11) & arraigned (4/13/11) with 8 felony counts of aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm, 8 felony counts of child neglect & attempted murder (Victor) & charged (3/7/11) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. $1M bond. DA will seek DP.
Trial was set to begin on 4/6/20 reset for 6/15/20 & cancelled due to guilty plea on 9/20/20 & now has new attorneys, plead not guilty on 1/7/21.
Trial set to begin on 3/16/23.
