The siblings of Travis Alexander, the victim in the Jodi Arias case, published an e-book Tuesday that was written by their beloved brother.
The book, entitled “Raising You: Stumbling Blocks or Stepping Stones, The Roadmap to a Better You,” is a self-help book. In its prologue, Alexander's siblings write that he began working on the book in his 20s. Alexander's brothers and sisters say they found the book on his hard drive after his body was discovered in Mesa, Arizona, on June 9, 2008, and this is the first time it has been released to the public.
“As Travis [Alexander’s] surviving siblings, we publish this book to honor him, and to further his goal of aiding others for success in their own endeavors,” reads the book's prologue.<snip>

"Raising You" is being sold onAmazon.com: RAISING YOU: STUMBLING BLOCKS OR STEPPING STONES, The Roadmap to a Better You eBook: Travis Alexander: Kindle Storefor 4.99 per copy. Its prologue states that money from the book's sales will help fund the Travis Victor Alexander Charity for the Survivors of Violent Crime, "an organization established to assist survivors and their families with the costs of attending trial away from home.”
The book begins with a statement of Alexander's goals. "My desire is that this book will help you believe what is already true: That you are special," he wrote.<snip>“We, Travis’ siblings, anticipate the final conclusion of the penalty phase to take place in the near future. We have striven to be present and involved in every aspect of the court proceedings seeking justice for Travis. We are grateful to be able to do so; however, the numerous hardships we continue to endure are immense,” reads the book's prologue. more at link: http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/08/21/travis-alexander-ebook-posthumous-publication?hpt=hln10_1

Jodi Arias trial update: Will judge set date for penalty retrial?

PHOENIX - Jodi Arias will return to court Monday for a hearing that could set the stage for her penalty-phase retrial.

Judge Sherry Stephens could set a date for Arias' upcoming retrial. Arias was convicted on May 8 of first-degree murder in the death of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.

A jury found Arias acted in a "cruel manner" in killing Alexander, who was found stabbed multiple times, shot once in the head and with his throat slit from ear to ear. However, that same jury deadlocked about whether Arias' sentence for the murder should be life in prison or the death penalty. Eight jurors wanted Arias to get the death penalty while four jurors voted for life in prison.

At a status hearing in July, Stephens said she would like to start the retrial in late September, but Arias' defense team is pushing to have it start sometime next year. Defense attorneys said they requested a later date to allow them to gather more witnesses to testify in the penalty-phase retrial.

Media coverage on stand after Arias trial ‘circus’

Judges and attorneys argue over TV access

The extent of the media frenzy, which focused heavily on lurid details of Arias’ killing of her lover, was detailed in a recently released transcript of the November hearing. An expert retained by Arias’ defense attorneys said that during the trial, there had been:

- 2,450 TV news reports just in the Phoenix area.

- 205 print stories, just in Maricopa County.

- 503 Internet photos that generated 9,600 links.

- 233,000 links to videos.

- and 524,000 Tweets about Arias.

A made-for-TV movie about the case, the expert said, had 3.1 million viewers.
