imho, her medical record speaks for itself.
I agree that she should have an opportunity to speak, and especially have her day in court.
NOT proud of Indiana on this one, nope!

Yes, the jurors didn't get facts they needed. Especially, a judge "made up" her age - not a doctor - a judge.
The judge had a petition prepared by an attorney that would lay out the arguments for why this person is not the age they believe she is – she is actually an adult.
Nobody knows quite what age, but she has not grown in four years, so the judge came up with his own little formula: Well, you stop growing at 18 – if she hasn’t grown in four years then she’s at least 18 when she entered their lives. And I’m gonna add four years.
He said, Okay, I find you 22.

Not a judge. I am extremely upset that this was allowed to stand!
There are people who can determine the age at death of prehistoric skeletons. But everyone’s an expert at determining what kind of abuse they can throw at this living, speaking kid. Even certified liars can throw their opinions in there.
The series started and I hope that it will bring clarity to the story. Michael clearly comes across as a real nefarious person.
I don’t know how they can argue when her bio Mom delivered her. Unless she was born in secrecy the Mother should have a trail of evidence to support that.

This is a clear case of corruption. The judge has no expertise to declare her age without a panel of experts.
I’ve never heard of this before. Can it be appealed at a higher level?

That was tried -- iirc, the Indiana Supreme Court said it was a matter for the county that horribly mangled this child's life.
i don't pay taxes in Indiana, otherwise believe me every single elected representative at every level of government would know how this child was wronged by Indiana courts....
imho, the more recent family has taken the proverbial high road, and is moving forward with grace & mercy to nurture N.
Something the Barnett's didn't bother to do imho.

Yet another specialist physician finds NG to be -- wait for it -- the age indicated by her original Ukrainian birth certificate, her birth mother's story, the records from the Ukrainian hospital & orphanage, the original adoption agency, Riley Children's in Indianapolis....

Wonder what the now-divorced Barnetts combined net worth might be? Might go a long way toward accessibility modifications to NG's home as well as tuition....

I think it would be double jeopardy would prevent the re-trying.
She had an attorney that tried to get the judge to overturn the age change. But I wonder if they go strong and hit again looking to get compensation for the miscarriage of justice. That age change cause so much mental and emotional harm; plus it allowed the Barnetts to get away with abuse!! People even now believe she is the liar and manipulator! She was left ALONE!!

I’m watching it now on ID. There is so much ‘acting’ for the cameras that it seems like a freak show. Especially Michael and his attorney. It’s disgusting.
One thing I didn’t know about was Kristine’s text exchange with the small disabled guy. They showed some of the text and they are weird and colourful. She is the aggressor. I’m not sure how to classify what his condition is but he is short like Natalia.
It’s clear that both Kristine and Michael are whacked.
ETA: Freddy Gill is the guy she was trying to seduce.

JMO I can't believe these shenanigans are STILL going on! And I can't believe Michael is IMO trying to backpedal and gain sympathy now. What a disaster. I feel terrible for poor Natalia. She deserves some peace and a normal life after having to endure all this crap.

Of course he is. It's fun though watching them turn on each other.
I am so curious how this whole thing went down. Something is up. Visually her teeth alone are evidence enough to confirm her age without X-rays. It’s easy to see that her adult teeth had been in the process of coming in.
How can a judge override what the doctor and the X-rays say? As well as the testimony of the previous family. That’s unprecedented. After watching the documentary I am stunned by how this is even a debate unless I’m missing something.
I don't think that the judge saw any of that. They showed the judge very selective things to prove their case.
I think that the judge has retired, but I can't imagine him being comfortable with his decision after all that's come to light.
All of this is my opinion.
