Ya know, I started to include that in my post then I *thought* I recalled that they paid him a token amount after they got their CBS payment. Maybe I am thinking about BC?:waitasec:
They "had" to "give" Brad $3000.
Apparently DCasey was a freebie.

:waitasec: doing some math here :waitasec:
$200,00+70,00+5,00= $275,000
Casey revealed $111,000 when she applied to be declared indigent, now that's the total paid to Baez and Lyon
Baez $89,000
Lyon $22,000
Total $111,000
So what happened to the rest, what did Baez do with the $164,000 left?
What other money went to expenses...and what constitutes an expense...new Ipad?
LKB revealed in her departure letter she never received payment, not even the contingency fee.
PI Lyons has, to date, been paid $15,051.63 by Florida Taxpayers
This works out to 376.290 hours of work(being paid at the JAC rate of $40/hr)
Is that not 16.29 hours OVER what Judge Perry granted? 300 initial hours plus another 60..and they have yet to have a hearing on the current motion for more investigative hours.

...and that's "know"...NOT "now". Sure do miss that edit button sometimes.I now BC got paid from some deal.

I wonder why no one told DC he was a freebie? Cause he sure complained about not getting paid...
It just depresses to me think that over 200,000 was wasted in this case. Jeebus, I'm struggling to get by and Baez wastes over 200,000 dollars like it's pocket change. I must be in wrong profession...

Casey Anthony defense lawyers Jose Baez, Cheney Mason and Anne Finnell. More
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The agency that oversees the public money being spent on Casey Anthony's defense wants her attorneys to prove that additional hours from a private investigator are necessary.
In a new court filing, the Justice Administrative Commission responds to defense attorney Jose Baez's claim that he's already exhausted the 360 hours for an in-state investigator that have been granted.
READ: JAC Filing
The JAC said Baez must prove more hours are needed and that Baez must keep the cost to $40 or less per hour, the state's established rate for investigators.
"JAC objects to any compensation rate in excess of established rates," the response said.
Many of the hours the defense claims to have used up have been spent in questioning dozens of people who claim to have searched Suburban Drive, the area where Caylee Anthony's remains were discovered in December 2008.

JAC is playing hardball with Team Baez....JMHO
Justice for Caylee
IMO, the bolded portion above was misstated. It should have read, "Many of the hours the defense claims to have used up have been spent in questioning hundreds of people who claim to have not searched Suburban Drive, . . ."

And there will be arguments over money tomorrow. Whether we get to see or hear any of it is not known.
Jose is going to argue for flying the defense experts in to review evidence, and for more investigative hours for things like that pesky searcher they can't seem to find or proof Caylee is alive *big eyeroll*
Oh, and that crazy guy, James McIntrye, got an email submitted. Great. If that's all the defense has to say Caylee is alive, they are toast. He is a nutjob!
Aw dangit, it's going to be by phone. Now where's the fun in that? Probably no ICA either. Well, at least in this all day conference I have to be in, I know I won't be missing much, lol.
Do we really get to hear their argument? Seems to me it will all be done over the phone
woops should have read the rest of your post..~L~
Will there be court transcripts of the phone conversation available for the public?
My, my, my. Jerry has now earned a whopping $15,556.13 for his 388.9 hours of investigation.
Seems he should be returning 28.9 hours worth, or $1156. He can darn well bill Baez for that amount.
And WTF is the JAC doing paying for more hours than have been granted? Somebody's asleep at the wheel here.
:furious:
I don't know. The last time this happened, the phone conversation, I swear, lasted like two seconds and it was over. And they had video, I think, of HHJP on the phone. lol.
Who knows this time.
In the end, Perry granted 110 hours of additional work for investigation, though a JAC official indicated during the hearing that the defense already billed for roughly 120 hours more than previously approved.
