MA MA - Simone Ridinger, 17, Sherborn, 2 Sept 1977

Spent alot of time going through UID pics today looking for potential matches....frustrating.
Simone is somewhere...but where?
She was probably killed and buried the day she disappeared. It would take blind luck to find any remains at this point. Maybe some day someone will start excavating for new construction somewhere and find some bones.

There are so many woman that were victims of serial killers, some of them truckers, from that 70s and 80s era who are still UID. Could Simone be one of them?
Hitchhiking on a stretch of highway, she could have easily been picked up...and body transported and discarded in another state. Would be of interest to find out which serial killers were active in 1977 and may have been in that area around that time.

I've been looking for a new project. This caught my eye. Its hard because of the lack of information and age. The information that is available has promise. There are questions and facts on this and every other case. Facts are for example It rained last night. Questions are, did it rain last night? Lots of questions but I want to get new real facts to create new questions. Next step is create list of people involved beyond the term "the 70 year old guy" in this case . What is his name and all the names, places and addresses involved with this case that can jog a memory or make someone who is hiding something to come forward. This can create a way to get facts that can give the good people of this site information to drill down with their skill set and to see what happened in this case. So I will begin with the who, what ,where and how of the people involved. Facts can rattle the cage but this poor soul needs to come home. Time to take a deep dive on this, Names, places, history all paint a picture of who and whats involved. Lets start with the family background. Stand by

Thoughts on one of these serial killer truckers prominent in the 70s being responsible for Simones disappearance...
Hitchhiking on a stretch of highway. Her body easily taken out of state...

Iinteresting podcast...
The coworkers/waitresses gave a description of what Simone was wearing/carrying (duffel bag) when she left work and it was not made public. The elderly man, who came forward in 1986, gave a similar description.
Also, she was suppose to leave work on Sept 2 and immediately start hitchhiking...the elderly man states he came into contact with her Sept 3 around 645 AM. If we assume this is true, where was she during the time between?
So many questions....

I've always wanted to know more about her boyfriend. Not that he was personally guilty, obviously, but why was he in prison? Could someone have "had beef" with him, and hurt Simone as retaliation? Could Simone herself have been caught up in, or caught wind of something?

So many things seem as likely as her simply having hitched a ride with the wrong person, IMO.

BBM

Many women were murdered in the 60s, 70s, and 80s after hitching a ride with the wrong person, so that still seems like the most likely scenario to me.

I also think it's possible that she had plans to meet someone she knew on the mainland.

Can someone refresh my memory. How far is it from the airport rotary in Hyannisport to the spot where she would have caught the ferry?

That may be. It always makes sense to go with the most reasonable explanation first.

However, her case is long cold, and with long cold cases in particular, I think there is value in thinking outside the box. Sometimes way outside the box.

Combing through UID pics..no luck.
This case is frustrating for sure!
