[h=1]South Carolina city 'creeped out' by killings[/h]
Deanne Blackwell, 31 of Spartanburg, has known Kohlhepp casually for more than a decade.
In March, a private message she said Kohlhepp sent her on Facebook -- one of several messages that went unanswered -- seemed harmless.
It read: "woman. you better talk to me more... or there will be consequences ... not sure what they will be, but I will pout," according to a screen grab of the message she said came from Kohlhepp's account.
It's impossible to discern what Kohlhepp meant by "consequences," but Blackwell said knowing what she does now about the killings, it spooks her.
"Now I think about it, yes, I'm completely creeped out because of everything after the fact," she said Thursday in a phone interview.

[h=1]Successful real-estate firm built between grisly crimes, authorities say[/h]
As he built a successful real estate firm, Todd Kohlhepp’s behavior struck some as odd: watching pornographic videos during work, making macabre jokes in marketing literature and openly discussing that he was a sex offender. But he was also an award-winning agent described as a hard worker and good boss.
Kohlhepp made ominous comments about having trouble sleeping and how he would “know where people live,” Shorts said. A neighbor, Scott Waldrop, said Kohlhepp bragged about chasing people off his rural property with an arsenal including guns with silencers and night-vision equipment.

Tague also revealed her son told her just why he shot four at the motorcycle shop in 2003. Kohlhepp told his mother that the motorcycle shop employees embarrassed him and made him feel bad when he asked to be taught how to ride a motorcycle.

"They sent him down a big field with plants this high and he fell off and they laughed and laughed at him," Tague told WSPA. When the shop employees would not help him learn to ride, he returned the motorcycle back and requested his money back. "They told him they'd take it back, but they wouldn't give him his money back and they were laughing at him," Tague added.

“I know that’s what they say. He was very misunderstood,” she said.

Attorney: Families of 3 'Superbike' murder victims to file lawsuit against Kohlhepp

Attorney Doug Brannon, of Kennedy & Brannon Law Firm in Spartanburg, confirms the probate portion of the suit will begin Tuesday, with an emergency action to re-open the estates of the victims. That action will allow the process to move forward with a civil suit against Kohlhepp.

Brannon declined to comment further on the details of the suit, but did indicate other alleged victims of Kohlhepp are also pursuing legal action.

[h=1]Wife of One of the Victims of Suspected Serial Killer Says She Can Finally Heal[/h]
The wife of Scott Ponder, who authorities say is a victim of suspected South Carolina serial killer Todd Kohlhepp, tells PEOPLE that she had “made peace” with not knowing who killed her husband in 2003.
All that changed, however, when Melissa Brackman received a phone call on Nov. 5 from a South Carolina detective who had worked on her husband’s murder 13 years earlier.
“[He] just said, ‘We got him,’ and I froze,” Brackman tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. She is still in disbelief: “I [didn’t] know how to feel.”

A video montage with pictures of the couple played throughout the service. Meagan was described as a fun free-spirited person who never put herself before others while Johnny was described as the typical American boy who was funny, athletic, creative and loved anything with wheels.

Kidnapping survivor files lawsuit against Todd Kohlhepp

WOODRUFF, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A 30-year-old Upstate woman who investigators said was found chained up on the property of a suspected serial killer is now filing a lawsuit against her reported abductor.

K B was found in November chained up by her neck "like a dog" in a metal storage container on a property in Woodruff, according to the Spartanburg County sheriff.

The owner of the nearly 100-acre plot, Todd Kohlhepp, is now facing charges for kidnapping B and Meagan Coxie, a woman whose body was found buried on the land. In addition, Kohlhepp is facing seven murder charges for the deaths of Meagan and Johnny Coxie, Brown's boyfriend Charlie Carver, and four victims slain in 2003 in Superbike Motorsports.

According to online court records, B has filed a personal injury lawsuit against Kohlhepp in Spartanburg County.

She is reportedly being represented by attorneys James Bannister, Alex Stalvey and David Wyatt.

State agency took no action on Kohlhepp complaints

This article references complaints in regards to a Facebook page that I no longer believe exists, that I have not seen mentioned anywhere prior to this article.

"As a respected member of the real estate community, I was just wondering if this is how we want our profession represented," the complainant wrote. "Also, isn't it the Real Estate Commission's responsibility to protect the public? After all, he does have access to all listings in Greenville and Spartanburg. Something MUST be done to stop this crazy man before something dreadful happens."

[h=3]Does suspected serial killer Kohlhepp qualify for public defender?[/h]
WOODRUFF, SC (FOX Carolina) - A motion has been filed to determine if suspected serial killer Todd Kohlhepp is financially able to afford his own attorney.

Kohlhepp, charged with seven counts of murder and two counts of kidnapping, was earlier rejected by the Public Defender's Office because he reported owning property.

The motion seeks to determine if Kohlhepp's assets exceed an amount qualifying him for a public defender. According to the motion, South Carolina law states that a judge has the right to determine if a person is in need of appointed representation, not just based on financial assets, but other facts of the case.
