The day began with brief testimony from Michigan State Police Trooper Lt. Darren Green, who was at the Michigan State Capitol during the April 2020 protests.

Later, the court heard testimony from CHS Dan, a Wolverine Watchmen member who became an FBI informant.

Court proceedings will resume at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The trial of the final three men accused of taking part in a 2020 plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer began its tenth day of deliberations on Tuesday.

The prosecution wrapped up its case on Wednesday against Eric Molitor and brothers William and Michael Null, who have been charged with providing material support for terrorist acts and carrying or possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The state provided three witnesses to round out its case and the jury went home early once the prosecution rested.
The court heard from the final FBI agent involved, known as Undercover Red, or UC Red.
UC Red was brought in as an explosives expert to prevent the Wolverine Watchmen from buying real explosives.

The court also heard from a state police trooper on Governor Whitmer's detail, as well as Elk Rapids Police Chief Dave Centala, who lives three doors down from the Whitmer residence on Birch Lake
The jury was then excused for the day as the defense motioned for a directed verdict, which would take the decision out of the jury's hands.

A man charged with assisting the leaders of a plan to kidnap Michigan’s governor denied any role Monday but conceded he should have contacted police when talk turned to obtaining explosives.

“It seemed to be getting serious,” William Null, 41, told jurors in a northern Michigan courtroom. “I don’t know if they were ever going to go through with it, but it was enough for me to not want to be involved.”

There is no dispute that the Nulls participated in militia-style training with dozens of people in September 2020 and then joined a small group that drove 75 miles that same weekend to see Whitmer’s lakeside vacation home.

But William Null insisted he had no active role in the surveillance and didn’t initially know that the purpose of the night ride was to see Whitmer’s house. He said Fox and Croft often were “half-baked” on marijuana and spewing “crazy rants” against government officials.

On cross-examination, prosecutors, however, sought to portray Null as more wicked than genuinely regretful. They played secretly recorded audio of him telling Fox that shooting Whitmer wouldn’t bring a life prison sentence.

ANTRIM COUNTY — After 14 days in front of an Antrim County jury, both sides have rested their cases in the last trial surrounding a failed plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

On Wednesday, the 18 jurors will hear closing arguments, six alternates will be excused, and the remaining 12 citizens selected to be part of the jury will begin to deliberate.

During cross examination, Assistant Attorney General William Rollstin grilled Bill on his knowledge of the plot and his claim of ignorance. Through multiple transcripts, Bill was shown to have been present when Croft described the plan against the governor.

*William Null (38/now 40) of Shelbyville arrested & charged (10/7/20) & arraigned (10/8/20) with providing material support for terrorist acts & carrying or possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. Cash bond of $250K. Bond reduced (12/16/20) to 10% cash or surety. Bond was posted & is out of jail (1/13/21). Remains on electronic monitoring. No longer on GPS (9/16/22). Trial began on 8/21/23 with jury selection & ended on 8/22/23. Jury: 12 jurors & 6 alternates. (11 women & 7 men).
Trial began on 8/23/23 & ended on 9/12/23 with closing arguments on 9/13/23.
Prosecutors: William Rollstin, John Pallas, Phillip Jacques & Daniel Grano.
13th Circuit Court Judge Charles Hamlyn presiding.
Prosecutors rested their case on 9/6/23. Defense began on 9/7/23 & rested 9/12/23.

Closing arguments are scheduled to begin at 9am on Wednesday, 9/13/23. After which, the jury can deliberate for as long as they wish to come to a unanimous decision.

I'm surprised this isn't receiving more coverage.

Also, the most recent guy who testified on his own behalf, good attempt at whitewashing. All you had to do was make a phone call and you chose not to.
