As I mentioned on Rebekah's thread are there any solicitors/attorneys here that can kindly weigh in on this and give an opinion on whether this is catastrophic for the state's case against him. Their opinion would be greatly appreciated.

As Becky's cousin, this is just a "tactic", there is no wrong doing in what he is presenting against him. There is no proof of any kind that he is being targeted...from the video of the search in his house, the CO didn't spend 1 second longer than required during their "protocol" search. CO's are allowed to skip through their paperwork to ensure inmates aren't hiding anything in between their legal documents since they know, of all documents, legal paperwork can not be read. As far as his case notes showing up in the laundry room, that is his fault and he admited that. He can't prove anyone read it if their is no witness! bummer? nah.

IANAL but I believe this is likely just a legal tactic to buy time. Definitely not catastrophic.

Jeffrey Willis to stand trial for open murder and kidnapping in Jessica Heeringa case

The judge explained his decision by saying "The totality of evidence convinces me, certainly for probably cause purposes, that Mr. Jeffery Thomas Willis should be bound over to circuit court, on the charges of open murder and on the charge of kidnapping. I'm finding that neither of those criminal offenses are cognizable in the district court, therefore this court is duty bound to bind the case over to trial in circuit court."

Willis remains in the Muskegon County Jail, after the judge denied bond.

MUSKEGON, MI - In an "unprecedented" move, Jeffrey Willis infuriated his murder victim's family by refusing to hear their statements and leaving the courtroom prior to his sentencing Monday.

Willis blew a kiss and responded to outraged members of the court gallery as he was escorted out of the Muskegon County courtroom Dec. 18 where he had been brought to face sentence for murdering Rebekah Bletsch in 2014.

Bletsch's sisters and mother gave tearful victim impact statements, which they had wanted Willis to hear. Jessica Josephson called Willis a "monster" and told him to "rot in hell."........
