With the weather in that area, it seems that after more than a year exposed to the elements the body would be fully decomposed....

Post this to Candace Graham's thread: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?322224-NC-Candace-Graham-25-Jacksonville-14-Nov-2016

Distance from Candace's last known location (boyfriend's house) to UID is only about 7 miles: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/404...5a7b2de122!2m2!1d-77.3629695!2d34.7897625!5i1

Autopsy will be done Jan 3rd:
The autopsy results of a body discovered in Jacksonville are expected to be in the hands of investigators on Jan. 3.

Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Chris Thomas said in lieu of the anticipated autopsy report, his investigators were “reviewing missing person reports.”
The woman’s age and other specifics are pending the outcome of the autopsy report, Thomas said.

Officials are releasing little about the woman found dead in the Piney Green area.

The autopsy of the body discovered Dec. 31 near the end of Thomas Humphrey Road in Jacksonville has been conducted by the Medical Examiner’s office and Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller said he is awaiting the results from the autopsy before releasing any additional information on the case.

“We are being very tight with what we know to maintain the investigation and not jump to conclusions,” Miller told The Daily News Tuesday morning.
Miller said the case is being handled as a homicide.

Sheriff Hans Miller says 41-year-old James Moore, of Greensboro, was arrested in Guilford County around 9:00 a.m.

Shelby Brown's decomposed body was found by teenagers off Thomas Humphrey Road outside of Jacksonville on December 31st. Deputies say she had been stabbed.

The 22-year-old woman was reported missing on January 3rd by her mother, while the body was positively identified about a week later.

Miller says Moore has a lengthy criminal history including drug offenses and breaking and enterings.

Investigators say Moore, who they described as being a transient, and Brown had a relationship. They say the two had met on social media.

"Because of this type of crime -- it not outside the realm of thinking that there may be additional victims out there," said Major Chris Thomas. "If anyone recognizes this individual and has a report they'd like to file with us, we encourage them to call the Sheriff's office."
