Kerri Anne Santos was arrested for the death of a 3-year-old girl. Three other adults were linked to the case, Christina Hopkins Pena-Canto, James Welch, and Austin Bing.

Albuquerque Police Department (APD) said Kerri Anne Santos, 33, brought her three children to the University of New Mexico Hospital just before 4 a.m. on Saturday. One of the children, a 3-year-old girl, was wrapped in a blanket. ...........dear God what is wrong with some people it just keeps getting worse jmoo

Detectives worked throughout the day and night on Saturday to determine the circumstances that led to the child’s death. They placed the other two children on a 72-hour hold with CYFD. They also learned from law enforcement in Massachusetts that there were multiple police reports of domestic violence and an investigation by the Department of Child and Families about suspicion of Santos using drugs around her children.

A forensic interview was conducted on the older sibling of the deceased child, and detectives learned that two other adults, Christina Hopkins Pena-Cantor and her son, Austin Bing, drove with Santos and her three children to Albuquerque. Detectives also discovered the children, including the 3-year-old girl, were sexually molested. Detectives learned of allegations that one of the adults would tie the 3-year-old girl at the ankles and wrists with shoe laces.

Santos allegedly told detectives that Pena-Cantor ordered her son, Bing, to tie down the girl on the bed on Friday. After arguing with Pena-Cantor and Bing, Santos eventually took the girl to the hospital, the affidavit reportedly said. Santos was going to lie about what happened but later allegedly admitted the injuries happened at Welch’s home.

Kerri Anne Santos was arrested for the death of a 3-year-old girl. Three other adults were linked to the case, Christina Hopkins Pena-Canto, James Welch, and Austin Bing.

Unfortunately increasing penalties for crimes against children as the Senator proposes won’t keep children safe.

There are already stiff penalties for child sexual abuse and homicide.

The more stories I read the more I’m convinced that it’s the drugs and the criminal element allowed into the lives of children by the mother which causes all of this.
