Identified! SC - Myrtle Beach, WhtFem at beach, dolphin tat, May'13 - Robin Kelly

I am kind of bummed as I feel like we did all that work for nothing last week. I really feel strongly about the lady I found who I can not mention. I have been sick but am going to follow up with SLED and the Coroner tomorrow to make sure they got the info I submitted. The age is right , the tattoo is right. This is the first time I have tried to help give the unidentified a name. I am going to work on the list of SC's unidentified. I had to step away as I was very upset last week that our progress was erased. I understand about not sleuthing family but I feel like there could be alot of overlap in people who have been wanted for a long time and unidentified victims!

Don't give up dear. What you did was good, it was progress.

Please don't give up! Although she is not our Doe, I think you were heading in the right direction. I personally believe fugitives should be considered as long as we don't post about them publicly.:twocents:

Hey, bama, glad you're back. I was afraid you got discouraged and left. You did great -- that ankle tattoo is really a big clue, I think. I'm glad you're going to follow up.

bamabeauty, last weeks sleuth was a great find - the first dolphin tattoo found for a possible match - and the thread took off. :)
Don't be discouraged - I think it was a good injection of interest added to the UID's case :)

I feel like Barbra Green could be ruled out because of the noticable gap in the front teeth and Mary Unwin as well because are the able to differentiate between dental work done in the US and outside of the US? I can not shake the feeling that our Doe went to Myrtle Beach specifically to die. I think something bad happened or a series of bad things and she just gave up. I still feel that it was someone in a state near SC. Maybe this was her vacation spot , somewhere she remembered being happy and she wanted to die there. Do we know if this was 100% ruled a suicide?

I have a hard time accepting drowning as a suicide method...

I wonder if maybe the cuts on her wrists made her woozy, so she was weaker and more susceptible to the water. Or was she intoxicated? I don't remember.

If I remember right she was wearing goggles...or had them around her neck...Seems strange she would be wearing them while committing suicide...

I really wish we had more info. They found blood in a public bathroom where they thought she had slit her wrists. Did they test and confirm the blood matched our doe. Also there are conflicting reports on eye color and the 2 sketches look nothing alike. I did not see that she had goggles. That is very interesting.

They are on her face in the bathing suit image...Or that's what they look like to me

I was thinking that was where they intibaited her or did cpr , some medical device because I do believe their were resuscitation efforts as she had not been in the water long. I am not sure though. Maybe someone in emergency medicine could help us out as to what they think that is.

Thanks bamabeauty...makes sense..Think someone mentioned that earlier in the forum and I forgot...

It's hard to say -- at least some of Karen's facial roundness is because of her weight, not the bone structure, and the other sketch shows a somewhat fuller face. It's close enough that with her being from nearby and only a going missing only a few months earlier, I think I'd submit it anyway.

I added the other sketch to the collage.

I also questioned the blood in the bathroom. I would like to know they confirmed it was her blood. The only scenario I can think of regarding her going to the beach is that - she wanted to wash the blood off her body.
With no blood trail - did she bind her wrists to soak the blood flow and to hide her wrists? Maybe she was wearing a pullover and used that?
If she didnt want to be noticed she would have hidden her wrists. Surely seeing a mature woman bleeding from the wrists would have sparked some response from someone if she was seen.
Maybe she went into the water fully to wash off the blood from her clothes - I didn't see any blood stains on her swimming costume - maybe it was all washed off in the water.

and regarding the different profiles of the UID - which one is correct?
These variables are making it difficult.

The age, weight, height and eye colour is different for the SLED - and for NAMUS

Is there anyway to get confirmation on what is right - and get a uniform profile for the UID over the webs sites?

Id like to see confirmation regarding the suicide angle - and the blood in the bathroom confirmed it was hers - also the marks around her neck.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement page has this contact information -
Contact: Myrtle Beach Police Department at 1-843-918-1382 or SLED at 1-803-737-9000 and ask for the forensic artist on duty.

If the eye colour is brown instead of blue, possibly they could change her (UID's) eye colour on the poster?

Did you submit Karen Marie Reiter?
I think I will mark the Missing People on the poster that have been submitted for consideration.
Karen has some features that would make her a candidate - that I can see (JMO)
