GUILTY TX - Moriah Wilson, 25, Cyclist Fatally Shot Before Race, Austin, 2022 *arrest* #10

Hmm, from the article...

During her murder trial in November, testimony revealed she had lab work done prior to her cosmetic procedures. Plastic surgeons routine check a patient's general health and whether she is pregnant prior to an elective surgery, like a nose job. In fact, Armstrong's surgery was pushed back by a day, a witness testified, because Armstrong failed to get the labs completed. Her doctor's office told her they were necessary. She had the labs done the next day and was able to go under the knife.

So why didn't the labs show her supposed pregnancy?

And wouldn't she have been tested when she was booked? (Unless she specifically refused to take a test.)
Not sure I believe anything she says, but a few things come to mind:

1. The plastic surgery place wasn't thorough and didn't do a pregnancy test as part of their routine, or they don't test for pregnancies for the type of surgery she had.
2. She wasn't pregnant when she had the surgery, but got pregnant in Costa Rica afterwards.
3. She's lying.
4. She was only a few days into the pregnancy, so the test was negative.

Yes, all valid theories. Thanks for setting them down.

I agree, that is one possible view of him.

Another possible view leaves him blameless in the legal sense, but might be a little less flattering than "aw shucks":

- Alpha male athlete was engaging in the time honored tradition of "chick juggling" after the relationship with chick number one got a little stale and chick number two was getting interesting. Needs to keep chick number one in the line up, just in case chick number two does not work out.

- Game plan: Gradually move chick one to "back up". Gradually promote chick two to "lead". No- neither one needs to to know about the other "team mate".

But I fully agree, I dont think he knew what lengths KA would go to at all. Rather, he probably just concluded that if KA discovered she was being "juggled", she would simply take herself out of the line up.
That sounds about right. There was a comment about that exact behavior and how most women either put up with it or move away from the relationship. My ex sister in law wasn't happy unless two men were competing for her attention.

The games people play don't usually end with a bullet to the heart but perhaps a broken heart.

There was a little tickle in my brain at one time that she was trying to get pregnant to keep a man, but I dismissed it as foolish.
And at the time, and now, I think she lies.
That would definitely be a tactic, yes— if she thought she was losing him to Mo Wilson, a pregnancy might re-cement the relationship with CS, and perhaps even lead to marriage if a child was coming.

Definitely, or ... getting pregnant in CR could add to the disguise eventually. Authorities were not looking for a pregnant woman...

If she was few days into pregnancy, then home pregnancy kit would be negative, too. It is less sensitive than blood chorionic gonadotropin.
Anyhow, if she came back pregnant when arrested, that would have been known by LE. The only thing pertinent to the case would have been KA being pregnant when she was killing Mo, but this is not what she is saying? She says, when arrested?

Is she saying she wasn’t aware until arrested?

But how much time elapsed between the murder and arrest?

Is she claiming she miscarried? I’ve been too busy to thoroughly read all.

I agree that it’s only relevant if she were pregnant from the CS relationship, at the time of the murder. I could see that being a mitigating factor. Why did Rick Cofer not use that as the defense?

Yeah, no. Not buying it.

We are all too well aware of this woman's penchant for crazy schemes to get out of a predicament. Botox "oh oops forgot my real card in the car. I'll just run out and get it", followed by nose job in Costa Rica, and let's not forget "I need to see an orthopedic specialist, but he says I can't have any leg shackles, trust me!"

Pregnant? Puh-leeze.

Yeah. And plenty of pregnant women have their babies in jail, sadly. She was looking for special treatment at sentencing? For something that may or may not have ever been the case early on?

I don't think she had a child in jail. Time-wise, it was about June/July she was arrested, and not looking pregnant at all. It reminds me of "Chicago" musical/film with this razzle-dazzle, sorry. I don't want to sound harsh, but she has enough years to appeal, and so it starts. On TX taxpayers' money, and poor Mo's parents emotions.

I agree. If she had a child in jail, we surely would have known. The one article said the following, which is what I was commenting on, like she was looking for sympathy at sentencing over a year later for a supposed pregnancy that may have ended in a miscarriage, but had no bearing on the case.

  • In a bid for a fresh trial, she has claimed in court filings that she was pregnant 'at or near the time of her arrest'
  • Her lawyer has argued that it is a mitigating factor that should have been taken into consideration before her sentencing

Her google searches will answer this question. If she searched to find if pineapples erase fingerprints… then surely there would be some questions about pregnancy.

In the new documents, her lawyer paints Armstrong as the daughter of an alcoholic mother, whose dad abandoned her and who was the victim of sexual abuse.

'As her family struggled during her childhood, her childhood friend also recalled Kaitlin was the victim of multiple instances of (actual or attempted) sexual violence,' her lawyer claims.

None of these claims were made during Armstrong's Austin trial, which went on for more than two weeks.

Right. What became of the pregnancy and the baby? Is there a medical record of an abortion or a miscarriage? Where is this baby?

AUSTIN, Texas — Last month, Kaitlin Armstrong was sentenced to 90 years in prison for the murder of gravel cyclist Anna “Mo” Wilson. According to court documents, she is now seeking a new trial because “there is newly available evidence which would probably bring about a different result.”

The motion for the new trial was filed in Travis County on Dec. 15.

It alleges that Tiffany Roy, forensic DNA expert with Forensic Aid, lodged a complaint with the Texas Forensic Science Commission regarding the testimony of Dr. Tim Kalafut.
