UK - Lin, 45, & Megan Russell, 6, Chillenden, Kent, 9 July 1996

I'm going from memory here, so I'll need some slack:

In the BBC documentary the investigators said she got the murder day/date wrong. I believe the issue was something like the day of the murders was a Tuesday but she implied it was a Saturday (hence they went to a club to celebrate her birthday).

So her alibi isn't as credible....
One poster highlighted the state the killers car must have been in.
No amount of cleaning is going to remove a large amount of blood.
So isn’t it a bit of a coincidence that Bellfields partners Ford Sierra Saphire was burned out after the Russell murders.
There’s actually more circumstantial evidence pointing to Bellfield than to Stone, yet Stone was convicted on this very thin evidence and no direct forensic link.

Bellfields red Daewoo which is thought he used in Milly Dowlers murder was never found.

Didn't Bellfield's recent confession mention he went on holiday but got the car scrapped before/after?

And his ex did confirm he borrowed her beige Ford and then it went missing in 1996..... July?!

But hey, Damian Daley said Stone did it.... !!!

Did you read Bellfields confession, parts of it were ridiculous, just couldn’t have happened.

His confession almost exactly matched Stones defence teams account of witness sightings that could have been Bellfield.

As Stone & Bellfield served time in the same prison it makes me think they collaborated.

Following the last documentary IMO Bellfields partner is either not telling the truth or is mistaken regarding key dates.

If Josie Russell’s recall is correct, it’s not Bellfield, he wouldn’t have been asking for money, he just killed his victims.

I can't find the actual confession but I remember parts of it. I was very intrigued he mentions the car.

I agree with you that's odd, but:

-In the 2017 documentary they emphasise how rare hammer attacks on women/children are
-Beige car was spotted
-Bellfield's girlfriend had a beige car
-Bellfield's girlfriend's beige car goes missing 1-2 weeks after the murder
-Bellfield is a convicted serial murderer
-efit
-Height/build match

I literally cannot understand how the Criminal Cases Review Board can refuse allowing testing. It'll be privately funded and performed by experts. The answer to this case is literally sitting there.

Think a general petition probably needs to be started. Not specific to Stone, one forcing the CCRB to allow testing if qualified persons request it.

The laces went missing for a while so they can't be used as evidence in court. I doubt that Levi killed the Russells, he didn't admit to his other murders so why admit to this one.

The lunch boxes had a bloodied fingerprint on them.

From my limited knowledge, with today's technology this would be ripe for collecting transfer-DNA.

It all depends on how well the evidence was stored after Stone was convicted. Like the laces, the evidence could have been compromised.
Additionally, the police don’t like admitting they got it wrong, and Bellfield is in prison and never getting out.
So they effectively have their man anyway, so why rock the boat.
Then again I’m a bit of a cynic when it comes to police mistakes.

Watched the documentary. The picture of Stone in the Police Van after being convicted of the crimes was quite telling. Eyes red and just sheer anger and bewilderment. Yes, he was probably told he had a good chance of getting off and this could be just disappointment, but to me it looked like a man who was in total shock of being convicted of this crime.
They kept going on about his previous crime that involved a hammer, but I am sure it was disclosed he was in a fight with someone and picked up a wooden mallet whilst in the fight to use. Bit different to bringing out a hammer to kill women and children.
I just cannot believe he was convicted on the evidence presented, and has not being allowed an appeal.
More worringly, I am not convinced of Bellfield's guilt, which means this man is still out there.

agreed. I’ve seen 3 separate tv shows within the last few years who are all desperately trying to push this bellfield narrative. For me it just doesn’t stack up.
Bellfield targeted young women. There was clearly a sexual aspect to his crimes. 45 year old Lin, her 2 kids and the dog is not his MO.
Josie says the man wanted money, he was rummaging through their belongings looking for something. Again, not levi bellfields MO.

The killer was described as having blonde gingery hair by all 3 witnesses (Anthony rayfield, Nicola burchhill and josie herself)
Bellfield had black hair in 1996, even if you think his girlfriend got her days mixed up (imo it’s unlikely considering it was her birthday) then there is still nothing that points towards bellfield being the killer apart from the fact both killers used hammers?

Just found the description of the killer by Anthony rayfield:

Anthony Rayfield, a jobbing gardener, described coming across a man acting strangely as he was on his way home from work. The man was quite small, with a wiry build and light hair, aged 35 to 40 years, Mr Rayfield said. "He seemed agitated, like he was in a hurry." The man trotted down the road towards a beige-coloured Ford Escort with the boot open. Later, a curious Mr Rayfield went back to the scene. There, he spotted a net bag. When details of the murders emerged the next day, Mr Rayfield contacted police. The bag had belonged to the Russell sisters.

Definition of wiry build:
adjective. Someone who is wiry is rather thin but is also strong. His body is wiry and athletic.

That does not describe bellfield imo, who was chubby and round
