So Mort S. spoke at the Clarence Darrow DP Defense conference June 09 - topic: "Investigators: Developing a Theory of the case"

He was preceded by speaker (Juliet Y) on "Mitigation Specialist: Phases of Mitigation"

The hour before Mort, Jeanene B (who is also listed on multiple jail visits - including an overnighter) speaking on "Developing the capital team panel".

ummmmmm YEP you got it..... I'll post all the CJCC faculty so if we see any others show up we'll know why.

Hi....just thought this might be good to bump back up....some discussion about visits from Mort and visits by mitigation specialist with KC.....
 
I wasn't suggesting it was in fact Mort......just given some of his articles about how to slide in to talk to someone during an investigation he seems to blur the lines a bit.....he doesn't say to impersonate an officer but does suggest giving the impression you are working with the police on the case....Or something to that effect....like describing how to get them to talk to you by mentioning something from the police report that they may want to clarify from their statement....he also says that usually if he suggests that they call the police they will just open up. So.......seemed familiar......
 
Well, driving a gold colored SUV you would think he would be easy to find?

I looked at the guy's (MS) credentials, but couldn't figure out if he was ever a cop...or not.

The defense has the photographs and most (but I don't think ALL) of the "circumstantial evidence" and has for some time now. Thanks in advance you smart folks out there :blushing:

This would be a disturbing exchange, not for Casey but for whomever was challenged with the task of presenting her such grim photos.
One can only imagine her cold, emotionless gaze at the skeletonized remains of her daughter judging by her previous fascination with them as entertainment. :snooty:

Sorry to be so blunt, but Caylee was no longer a mess to deal with at that point.
I am sure she would love to have her hands on the bones she could go back and retrieve. I feel confident in the fact that if Casey hadn't been arrested, Caylee might not have ever been found nearly as complete as she was, thanks to the tireless efforts of the forensics team that sifted through soil, garbage and plants to bring her home.

If he is...I am shocked, the way he questioned Ms. Kerley did not give me that impression. I do not know if it was he that did the editing. If it was, and he was former LE....he would know that is not ever going to be credible. It would have been better to start over and narrow his questions in, than present a tape in the manner that was released to the media. If he were a fifth grader handing in an assignment like that the teacher would promptly return it with a unsatisfactory grade. I can assure you the prosecution's examination of Ms. Kerley will be complete if and when we ever hear it.

I wonder if he is billing the hours he has to spend as a bench warmer for when the judge calls a side bar and he has to jump up into the babysit Casey seat at the defense table.

Another thing that makes you wonder what is up is that Mort is always in court at the hearings. My husband was a PI and never attended hearings of clients unless he was there to testify. ?????

Why didn't you put Kronk's ex under oath when you questioned her?
Do you realize she lied to you
Do you know about her criminal past?
Did you do any type of background check at all on her?

Baez is such a third grader! "All I heard was blah blah blah" he said. That's mature.
 
I understand the importance of a complete defense investigation........but for Mr. Smith to be sitting "courtside" to babysit KC on a continual basis, I wonder if he would have been better suited as a "nanny".

Oh the irony.

I'd like to offer "nanny" services at $150 / hour.
