Who's Who in Cold Cases

Hi. I'm a Psychic Medium and my area of focus is on Spiritual Healing. Lately, I've found that I'm drawn to Psychic Detective work in both helping to find missing persons as well as the circumstances around someone's murder.

I am hopeful that my abilities will be a welcome addition to the websleuths community

Thank you!
Ty

Hi my name is Angela I'm married with two sons, I live in North East England and have diplomas in criminology, abnormal psychology and anthropology. I am fascinated with LISK and I belive Shannon Gilbert was also a victim as her Hyoid bone had been broken, this is extremely common in strangulation.

My name is Bill Thomas. I am the older brother of Cathy Thomas, who together with her friend Rebecca Dowski, were the first two victims in the Colonial Parkway Murders, in which four young couples (one lesbian, three straight) were murdered under similar circumstances in lovers lanes in and around Williamsburg, Virginia, from 1986 to 1989.

Two of the cases, Cathy Thomas - Rebecca Dowski and Keith Call - Cassandra Hailey, are FBI cases since they occurred on the Colonial Parkway, and two others, Robin Edwards - David Knobling and Annamaria Phelps - Daniel Lauer, are handled by the Virginia State Police since they occurred off the Parkway in Isle of Wight County and New Kent County. All of the cases are still being actively investigated.

There is a Colonial Parkway thread here on Websleuths, and lot of other information available online, including a Wikipedia page we try to keep up to date.

True Crime authors Blaine Pardoe and Victoria Hester have a book on the Colonial Parkway Murders to be published in May 2017. If you have any questions/concerns/tips, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks.

Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. I'm sorry about your sister Cathy and about the circumstances that brought you here, but very glad you decided to join. I've greatly appreciated your postings on the Colonial Parkway murders and look forward to the upcoming book you mentioned. I will be on the look out for it in May!

Kay:

Thanks. I will occasionally comment on related cases in Virginia, and I do try to follow other cases as time allows.

We have had some recent developments in the Colonial Parkway Murders, and will keep you posted.

I'm just updating my info here. I've been a longtime member here, I run the site Zodiackillersite.com & have been researching the case for over a decade. More recently, at the urging of the late True Crime writer,Michelle McNamara,I am researching the Golden State Killer case. I am in the process of launching a True Crime Blog focused mostly on Cold & unsolved cases, Missing Persons, Murders.etc. I'm looking for more cases to write about,so i would appreciate any PM's about cases that need more help or exposure. Thanks

In 2001 11-year-old Shannon Paulk was taken from her trailer park home, Candlestick Park in Prattville, AL. On October 6, 2001, two months after her disappearance, her body was found by hunters in the Autauga County Wildlife Management Area. In 2007 police released composite sketches of a man seen with Shannon the day she disappeared. She had been playing with some friends in her trailer park while her mother was inside their trailer. One of her friends had seen her speaking to a man that day. Very Recently they have started to look back into the case. There are a few links to some articles that I have included. The articles include helpful details. The composite sketches have been deemed no longer credible.

Hi everyone... I am Koti and I started to become involved with criminal justice when a former co worker and friend, Carolyn McGrew Simpson was murdered and her baby removed from her (and who later died due to being too premature )... I have not yet finished my degree (still working on it) ... I do have a fascination with unsolved/missing persons cases... it breaks my heart that families have to sit and wonder what happened to their loved one or why they were killed or who they were killed by. It breaks my heart that some people never get justice for what happened to them... so this is where i spend a lot of my time...hoping to uncover something or make a missed connection so that victims and loved ones of the victims may some day get some kind 'closure' (which really isn't closure but don't know how else to describe it).

Hi,
My name is Jude and I'm a middle school teacher and the son of a police detective. I have been interested in cold cases for nearly fifteen years. I began researching the Joan Risch and Susan Caira disappearances in the early 2000s. More recently, I have been researching the abduction and murder of a 12 year old boy in my town that has never been solved. I am hoping to create a thread about it soon. I'm glad to be here.

Welcome to Ws jude_061!
This is the most recent page of a very long thread for JR and SC.
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?30505-MA-Joan-Risch-30-Lincoln-24-Oct-1961/page20

Wondering which 12 yr old boy's murder you have been researching, maybe there is already a thread here for him?

My mom grew up down the street from where SC was abducted and my dad was a police officer in the next town over and was involved to some extent in later years of the investigation.

The murder case I referenced was that of Michael O'Gorman in 1974 in Gloucester, Mass. Being new to the WS community, I am still learning the ropes of navigating the site.

Hi! Just wanted to post an intro real quick before calling it a night..or day..?! Lol! Forever the night owl, hates mornings, and should have been my SN! Anyway, I found ws a few months back, probably from one of the MANY podcasts I'm lucky enough to be able to listen to all day, while at work. Most of them are on Missing people. I'm in my early 40s (did I just type that out loud?!), and have been interested in Unsolved Mysteries ever since the day the same named show came out. A yr or so back I found a few "true crime" Facebook pages & joined, where I then learned of the many true crime and Unsolved topic based podcasts, and that's what led me here. It has just always been a mystery to ME, how a person can just vanish, like they walked right off the edge of the universe, never to be heard from again.... Without SOMEONE knowing what happened. I honestly think, for every missing person, there's at least one person that holds the key...whether they know it or not, is the question, and that's why these pages, shows, and podcasts are soooo important, as is making sure all these cases constantly resurface, because you never know who may be reading this, someday, and remember just one thing that could possibly lead to solving any one of these cases. And, I'd hope if it were ever a member of my family, God Forbid, that strangers far and wide, would want to help us find our missing person, even if it's just to read it, and stick it in the back of their craw, just in case... So, that's the why and how... I'm off to read til I can't read anymore. :)

Welcome to Ws MissEm12, cold cases get warmed up when people gather around them, imo, glad you are joining in!

I am "sub" here; other names elsewhere. I am a retired law enforcement officer. I have been interested in cold cases for years. My own near kidnapping as a kid drove me to look for the predator and into my career. A childhood schoolmate was murdered around that same time. A friend, Arpana Jinaga, was murdered a few years ago and her alleged murderer's trial just resulted in a hung jury.

I listen to many of the true crime podcasts. I teach criminal justice classes at a community college. I lurked for years before joining this year. I am glad I have more time to be here. Thanks.

:welcome: Thanks for taking the time to stop by and introduce yourself! I don't mean to put you on the spot, so feel free not to answer, but did a certain case bring you here or are there any particular cases you're interested in?
