I’ve often thought that if Mollie had taken the dogs on the run with her she would have had a bit of protection.

Of course she probably never thought she needed protection in her sleepy town.

Having a daughter and granddaughter this weighs on me

*I seriously don't mean to rehash things. Honestly. I'm very map and time obsessed right now and need to know if this works.

Has it been confirmed how fast Mollie normally ran?

I ask because distance-wise, I don't think it would be out of line for her to normally run to some point (or to the end) of the 1900 block of 385th. If she was running an 8 minute mile pace or less, running all the way to the end and home would be close to 45 minutes.

If she was planning to go straight to her mom's from Boundary and Middle area, she'd only have really run a couple of miles that night. Which maybe was the case, but that wasn't her normal distance, I don't think.

Going with this idea, I think CR followed her down 385 and either ambushed her towards the less-populated eastern end, or waited for her somewhere there until she was on her way back. That spot on LE's map was probably due to a Fitbit spike during abduction, which likely was a grab and go.

If Mollie was running about an 8 minute mile, that would have put her at that red dot around 8pm or shortly after. From that intersection it takes around 15 minutes to drive to the cornfield via V21 (sorry, I had this wrong yesterday) and past pig farm (only 1 mile away from cornfield).

I think he could have dragged/carried her into the cornfield and done all he did in approximately 10 minutes, and her Fitbit showed death at 8:28pm, or CR was on his phone at 8:28. Something. JMO

Of course, if she was a much slower runner, this scenario wouldn't work the same.
That’s what I’ve been saying this whole time!!

I'm pretty certain he raped her now. And the rape was done after she was dead. This is similar to the Philip Chism case where he killed a teacher and there is overwhelming evidence that she was raped twice, but Philip claims he never raped her, just knocked her out and killed her...she never knew what happened to her. Why wouldn't he admit to it? Because admitting you raped a corpse would be so embarrassing.
Raped and killed - evil
Killed and raped - evil and weird
I think she was knocked out or very groggy when he raped and then killed her.

Mollie Tibbetts case: Suspect Cristhian Rivera changes lawyers

Rivera, through his new attorneys, has withdrawn all pending motions filed by Richards and waived Rivera's right to a preliminary hearing. That means Rivera will not appear in court on Friday as previously scheduled. [bbm]

Richards had filed a motion for a gag order seeking to bar media from all court proceedings in the case.

"It’s not something Chad and I would have requested if we were on the case initially, so that’s the reason we’re withdrawing it," Jennifer Frese said. She declined to give further details about their legal strategy.

CR's new defense attorneys are a married couple, but work for separate firms. They've never tried a case like this together, but ..."they decided it would be good to have two attorneys defending Rivera since it's a high-profile case. Both Jennifer and Chad Frese practice criminal defense work, she said."

That's right! You said she could have been running towards hwy 6 and then back to Mom's. The timing seems right for that corner of 385 and 220. Did you ever find out how fast she normally ran?

If it helps, from MT's SM, she may have been training for a half-marathon. Also, she was supposed to go to the Dominican Republic 2 weeks later, and may have been putting in some extra miles to look trim for the wedding and the beach. From what I recall of her high school track times, posted way up threads, an 8 minute mile was appropriate for her.

I think that LE has a very good reason to cite 1900 385th Ave as the location of the Homicide, before or by 20:28. The pig farm in question is deserted, and could be an excellent secondary crime scene, with the cornfield as a disposal site.

Right. There are naysayers who say “I don’t think Mollie would have ran down that road” meaning 385 (like it was scary to her) BUT...She was a cross country runner and that’s what cross country means lol. And whether she ran out to 6 or doubled back on 385 doesn’t make a heck of a lot of difference distance wise. My best kinda educated guess is, it puts her at the upper right red dot on the FBI map. And no, never found out how fast she ran. I kinda figured between 7-8 minutes per mile.

Edit: changed the word fact to best kinda educated guess/ added per mile. Sorry, need to proofread more lol

News accounts are saying all 3 were privately hired by the family, I’ve posted a few articles supporting their statements back a few pages.
Being hired or "engaged" to represent and being paid are separate concepts so just because engaged privately does not mean family paying necessarily. contingent cases in civil court for example. I doubt they are being paid nothing but a reduced fee for such a high profile case I would not doubt it at all. MOO

I think 385 was a very logical place to run in her mind. She could measure distance easily, and not run back and forth, back and forth along town blocks trying to get mileage. I've run country roads many a time without concerning myself (too much) over the isolation.

Did he specify 'gravel' road? Boundary is gravel just after Middle St., but there are buildings all around and a couple houses. 385 is paved until the intersection of 220, where it turns to gravel.
No, LE didn't say the road was gravel along the stretch, my bad, that's what I had in my mind's eye. Maybe it's gravel or dirt nearer to the access road to the cornfields where he left her body. I thought they were pretty close to eachother, and got confused.

Exactly! And I wish the Google car would go all the way out to 200, but it doesn’t. It stops at 185, BUT...you can look down 385 and see that there are small hills in 385 and a small hill is enough to completely block any houses or eyes from any horrible activity going on there.

Edit 220 changed to 200

Probably, I think he’s getting a twofer with the latest couple, but I’m going by these quotes, which IMO infers money was exchanged for their services.

I may be wrong but that how I read it.

"The family reached out (to) us and we met with them first and then we met with Mr. Rivera on Friday evening and he decided to move forward with the change of counsel," Jennifer Frese said.

Frese said she and her husband have been privately retained by Rivera's family.

Richards says Rivera’s family hired him and that he hasn’t spoken with Rivera about being replaced.

Boundary looks paved the whole way from Green to Spring Street to me, but just another type of pavement or maybe paved at different times to change the “patina”..lol
