I have the impression that she was taken against her will... but we don't know if she had a good relationship with the father of her children... maybe he has something to do with it? because apparently she had a good relationship with her boyfriend with whom she lived... I think the ex-husband has something to do here... I'm sorry for her children for so many years without his mother...

The disappearance of Brenda Condon has continued to stump investigators for 33 years. Condon, 28, was working the night shift at Carl's Bad Tavern on Feb. 27, 1991. At the time of her disappearance, the tavern was located along a rural area on State Route 550, just two miles north of Bellefonte. She was new at the job, working there for about two weeks. It was her second job, she also ran home cleaning service branches in State College and Williamsport. That night, Brenda was working a double shift. She was expected to close the bar after last call, clean up, and then begin her day shift at 10 a.m. According to the schedule, Condon's second shift would have officially ended on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. She was reportedly last seen between the hours of 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 a.m. on Feb 27. According to witnesses, she was talking to an unknown man inside the bar. Condon was wearing a pair of black cowboy boots, a silver shirt over a black tank top, and jeans with silver studs. When the day crew began trickling in for work the next morning, Condon's absence wasn't noticed. The shift carried on as normal. The bar was tidy, with receipts put away from the previous night and the lights off. There were no signs of a break-in or robbery. It wasn't until Condon's relieving shift came in at 6 p.m. that crew members noticed her absence.''

Details of Disappearance

Condon was last seen between approximately 12:45 and 1:15 a.m. on February 27, 1991 in Spring Township, Pennsylvania. She was working as a bartender at Carl's Bad Tavern at the time; it is located in a rural area on State Route 550 two miles north of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, near Interstate 80.
The business was abandoned and unlocked when other employees arrived in the later morning hours. Condon's gray 1986 Mercury Capri was found in the parking lot. The bar's receipts were put away and the lights were off.
There was no sign of robbery or any struggle inside the bar, but Condon's black cowboy boots were located in the men's restroom. They appeared to be neatly arranged. They were the only shoes she had with her that night. Investigators are uncertain if the placement of Condon's boots is related to her disappearance. She has never been heard from again.
It is uncharacteristic of Condon to leave without warning; she is described as a very punctual, reliable individual. She was close to her two young children, and her boyfriend of two years said they had a good relationship. She was reported missing the same day she disappeared, but police didn't begin looking for her until March 2, after she missed a visitation period with her children, which is uncharacteristic of her.
Authorities would like to question three unidentified Caucasian male patrons who were at Carl's Bad Tavern during the evening Condon vanished. It is not known if any of these men are connected to Condon's case; they are simply wanted for questioning. Sketches of the patrons are available with this case summary.
The first patron is described as 38 to 40 years old, 6'2, wearing a bright blue down jacket and jeans. The second was 25 to 30 years old and 5'8, and wearing a black leather coat, a white button-down shirt and jeans. The third patron was approximately 50 years old and 5'8, wearing a short dark-colored jacket, dark-colored slacks and a brown plaid shirt.
It was a slow night at the bar and these men are the only patrons the police have been unable to identify. Certain acquaintances of Condon's have not been cooperative with the investigation, but none of them have been named publicly and none are being called suspects in her disappearance.
Condon's case remains unsolved. She left behind two children, who lived with their father in 1991. She was divorced and lived with her boyfriend in the 1900 block of Harvest Circle in State College, Pennsylvania. She is a former resident of Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1980.
In addition to her bartending job, Brenda ran a home cleaning service. She had been working at Carl's Bad Tavern for only two weeks prior to her disappearance. The establishment has since closed.

“When all the smoke had cleared and I was able to put it all together — the key clue — the day that she went missing, that morning, she was supposed to open up at 11 a.m. A vendor came in there to take care of the pool tables and cigarette machine. It is what he observed that cracked this case for me,” said Mains. He had seen a single bottle — all by itself — with money beside it on an otherwise clean bar.

“At first, that doesn’t seem like a such a huge clue because we don’t know when she was taken. But I was able to find out she was abducted after she had taken the bar’s money, tallied it and put it in the safe, so then it got me thinking, if that was from a patron, that money would have been with the tally. The bar was clean, except for one bottle which tells me she already cleaned, she already did everything, but there was one guy waiting there and he was drinking that single beer and that money was a tip for her,” said Mains. This clue ruled out several suspects who were unlikely to tip Brenda, including her boyfriend and the owner of the establishment.

“That left one person, and it was Mains’ suspect, the same guy who was harassing the other bartender, so that brought it all together for me,” said Mains. He says the fact this man, who he believes lied to him during his questioning, was untruthful only further cements his guilt.

“He lied to me about numerous things. Things you didn’t have to lie about unless there was a reason,” said Mains.

As of now, the Centre County District Attorney, who is aware of Mains investigation, has not given any indication if charges will be filed based on his findings.

But as Mains will tell you, it’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove.
