WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —
Four days after Timothy Ferriter testified in court about his forged job offer letter, his wife Tracy Ferriter's attorney Marc Shiner told a judge that he is now back on her case --- as long as he doesn’t have to go to trial in March as originally scheduled.

That trial date was set before Ferriter's previous attorney quit, citing irreconcilable differences.

"After reviewing discovery the past few weeks I know I can be ready in July," said Shiner.

At the very end of that article, it says the judge ruled to hand over Tim to DOC. I assume this means he's headed to prison. And the jail wants him out of there ASAP, so I guess it'll happen soon-ish.

Yes, that's right. So why sound firm about a March date, yet the court does not back it up. moo
Sadly, IMO, that is the way of the world today. All talk and no walk to the point that I think when it happens just let me know, then I will be interested.

Absurd how many extensions this trial has had, when the attorney mess was all Tracy manipulation and "irreconcilable differences".

Tracy Ferriter says she’s not guilty, but will she want to take her chances with a jury? There’s about a month left before the trial and at any point between now and then, the state or the defense could initiate a deal.

If that doesn’t happen, a new expert witness will take the stand.

Does a plea conference mean there's a plea on the table? Hopefully, there's jail time involved.

There's no evidence the Ferriters ever sought help for their son or followed through after assessments. The woman who, early on, "diagnosed" the child with "attachment disorder" had no credentials that would be required for any diagnosis.

I hope the pros brings back the Brown psychiatrist who says the Ferriters did the exact opposite in "treating" their son for an attachment disorder—made up or otherwise—than would be standard or appropriate care. If there really was attachment disorder going on (the diagnosis is much disputed anyway), isolating a child in a box is not how it's treated. In fact, juveniles in juvie are not allowed (by law) to be treated the way the child was treated, because the results are permanently catastrophic.

And I hope the pros adds a second expert witness.

Moo and specualtion:
Plea Conference in the state of FL:
It's a joint meeting for all parties to gather prior to a jury trial.
It will provide defense counsels a chance to file any motions needed, reduce charges and exclude evidence - ask for additional time, if deemed necessary. Also, to set a trial date.

It's possible that a plea deal is offered. Below are the charges against TF.

BREAKING: Tracy Ferriter pleaded guilty this morning and received 10 years probation. Her husband Tim Ferriter was found guilty late last year on the same charges and received 5 years in prison. This case involved their 14-year-old adopted son and became widely known as the boy in the box. They had a room constructed for him in their garage that locked from the outside.

With this guilty plea, Tracy should be immediately banned from any contact with any children without supervision. That includes her own.

I thought there was a no contact order for the older kids. I could be misremembering too. But their youngest was adopted by Gparents. So she will be able to interact with him.

IMO they had the Gparents adopt him to avoid DCF oversight. AFAIK they'd found a way to sneak the baby into the prison to visit with Dad although it was prohibited. She shouldn't be allowed to have any unsupervised time with the toddler, either, and it should be in a neutral environment, on a schedule. She's clearly a danger to children.
