You know what I did yesterday was a meatloaf. And I can't believe I did it, it's so hot, but I did it anyway, lol. Ground beef, little milk, egg, panko, lotsa ketchup, ground mustard (generous), Worcestershire (generous), s&p of course, very generous garlic powder & onion powder. Couple of hits of tabasco. Big ole dollop anchovy paste. We did the meatloaf muffins, they cook faster. Sooo good, was glad I went heavier on the ketchup than usual, it tasted awesome. It was on the wetter side when I mixed it up, but it turned out great. Did no veggies with it this time and I thought I got a much better result. I think I might mix some onion soup mix into that next time, and some better than bouillon. Missed having actual green pepper and onion in there, but not that much, and when I do the green pep in there (celery and so forth), it gets way too wet and sometimes even crumbly. Happy with that one, lol.
My 'secret' ingredient in meatloaf is diced celery and a small amount of celery salt, also a small amount of diced sweet onions. It adds flavor and a little bit of texture.
If it is too watery, use less milk. Milk doesn't really add much flavor
MMMMMM

Sorry guys, I am realizing that was sort of a downer of a post

How about ideas for different float combinations? I love a good classic root beer float but am wondering about other combinations for ice cream & soda.
Red creaming soda and vanilla is a great combination.

Ginger beer in a float is surprisingly good.

My dad worked at a drugstore soda fountain/ice cream counter when he was in high school. He use to make different kinds of floats for us when we were kids.

Our favorite was a Black Cow.

In a frosted glass, put 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup. Add one cup of Coca Cola and one tablespoon heavy cream. Then add a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a straw.

Anyone else have a Splice in their country, or is it an Australian thing?

It's a frozen treat on a stick. Pineapple lime water ice on the outside with vanilla ice-cream centre. So, I know those two flavours go really well. So if you have a pinelime soda, then it will go well with icecream.

I was totally thinking of lime soda when I made my post! Lime Crush soda would work. Strawberry soda with vanilla ice cream would also be good.

This is the week there are two produce pick ups. This tropical fuzzy fruit is like lychees. But I’m allergic to many tropical fruits. I’m not going to touch them. I’ll hand off the 2 watermelons & mushrooms also.

Lots of Haas avocados but I’m not sure they’re in great shape. I was reading about planting the seeds. At a minimum, it would make a nice shade tree. If you’re lucky you get a decent tasting avocado. Not 100% original Haas but similar. I have plenty of space for one. My other avocado tree is the big green Florida kind.

The radishes are cleaned & in the fridge. Lots of cabbages but I haven’t peeled them yet. I will blanch & freeze some of them.

So my friend KB is coming tomorrow to take some of the extra food. Her daughter is raising 3 teen boys!

Don't bother planting the seeds unless you're willing to wait to get a harvest.

Yeah, it takes years. I read where if they don't produce between 5-10 years, they'll not likely ever produce. I'm ok with 5 years since my daughters will inherit my house.

My friend Kristine started avocado trees from seeds years ago. The one she gave me is maybe 4 years old now. She had it in a big pot for maybe a year or so. I've had it in the ground here in SWFL for I think 2 1/2 to 3 years. It has really taken off this year, sprouting new limbs, healthy leaves.
