It makes me sad to see Loan's father cutting uo his lunch for him... :( He takes his son to ride horses at Grandma's farm and he never sees him again?
A poignant image.

I read early on in the case, that Loan was taken away, unbeknownst to him & without asking permission. He was upset & furious.

( Mentioned in one of the 1st articles, I’ll see if I can find a link )

This from the article above

The father, José Peña, said his son “was stolen” and that the suspects had attempted to distract him during the gathering. “My mother is a poor old lady who invited people for lunch,” he told LN+ news channel. “She would never have thought they would do that”

So, if Laudelina has already sold one or more of her babies into this trafficking network (for the money), then maybe she's been trying to get pregnant again without success. In desperation, she decided to just take her brother's child and sell him. Loan wasn't supposed to be at the lunch, so she would have had to call someone from the lunch to come and get the child. The 50,000 pesos (about $2,800) she had on her when she was arrested could be the money she got for the sale.
Would you really have a baby shower and photos if you were going to sell the baby?! Surely the pregnancy would be hidden

If you read the whole article you'll see it does make sense because the police don't believe that the boy wandered off on his own. From another MSM article

After lunch, the child left the home with Benítez, Ramírez and Millapi and some of his cousins, according to prosecutors, travelling in the direction of an orange grove a few miles away. The boy’s father did not realise they had left the property.

The trio of adults later realised that Loan wasn’t with them and called for assistance.

Benítez is Loan's uncle, so obviously his father didn't think anything was amiss. All three mentioned above were arrested in connection with his disappearance. It was stated in another article posted earlier that the police don't believe they even made it to the orange grove.
I also wonder about the safety of the other young cousins. I hope this little boy is found. Horrifying story.

After arresting former police officer Francisco Méndez and raiding his house, judicial sources confirmed that the eighth person involved in the case of Loan's disappearance will testify this Monday in Goya, Corrientes.

The non-governmental organization La Alameda, responsible for combating human trafficking, slave labor and child exploitation, requested the preliminary investigation of the governor of Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés. The request was also extended to provincial senator Diego Pellegrini and Laudelina Peña's former lawyer, José Fernández Codazzi.

In her last statement before the federal judge of Goya, Loan's aunt (Laudelina) reported that her first lawyer, José Fernández Codazzi, gave her 50 thousand pesos to establish the hypothesis of the "accident" in that suspicious nocturnal statement before the provincial prosecutor Gustavo Roubineau, despite the fact that the case was already in the federal jurisdiction. They say they went to that meeting with the provincial senator, Diego Pellegrini in his van. That is why the court recently summoned the legislator to testify as a witness.

-Gustavo has been the governor since 2017. In 2021, Pellegrini moved to the Senate.

Lots of articles about a demonstration/march yesterday led by Loan's parents (seen below). Loan's parents lead the march in a pickup truck. They are followed by villagers holding signs asking for the boy's quick return.

I've seen articles where the car transporting Maciel to testify was stoned and the Judge getting mobbed with protesters when she leaves the courthouse. The people are fed up.

This is new:

The magistrate is looking, so far without success, for a blue and white refrigerator, which, according to Camila Peña, was brought to Grandma Catalina's house by Carlos Pérez and María Victoria Caillava. Some investigators suspect that Loan's lifeless body could have been hidden in that small refrigerator, which has not been found in the multiple raids carried out in 9 de Julio that tragic afternoon.

-They must mean a cooler, like for drinks. It doesn't make sense for them to bring a refrigerator.
It does refer to a cooler, also when the articles used to mention “un botín” they were referring to a type of shoe like a short boot and not to loot (which is another meaning of the word botin)

Many theories and statements based on assumptions or suspicions and very little valid evidence. In Spanish, you would say “qué desgárriate está este!

I don't think it was a plot between a bunch of people. I don't know if it was an unfortunate accident or an evil madman, what I do believe is that whatever happened to the little boy was less complicated, what doesn’t make it less tragic than it is.
Hope he is found safe and sound soon, regardless of the odds against

I always assume, since The Franklin Coverup, that there are compromised officials (govt and NGOs) who are involved re: trafficking, worldwide, but this case is really bringing that to light. Hoping against hope this little guy is alive and found soon.

If government officials are trafficking children for sexual purposes, then it would have to be to video and blackmail them to get what they want. I would think someone Loan's age would be sold for adoption, but maybe they need to groom the kids from an early age so they think its normal.

For the first time a search was carried out in the field where a neighbor heard a child screaming. The judge led the proceedings at the home of Abundio Escobar, a local ambulance driver, who heard a child calling for his mother the day the boy from Corrientes disappeared; and despite the fact that he notified the court, his complaint was dismissed.

"I heard the cries of a child calling for its mother," Escobar said at the time, adding that it was around 6:30 p.m. and that the cries were of a child and not a calf, as prosecutors had suggested during the statement, dismissing that lead.

Judge Pozzer Penzo accompanied the security forces in the searches that took place on Sunday afternoon in the town of 9 de Julio. A short while later, the federal prosecutor of Goya, Mariano de Guzmán, joined the procedure, also marking an unprecedented event since the moment the Federal Justice took charge of the investigation.

The Alameda Foundation has requested the governor of Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés, give a statement before the Federal Court regarding the disappearance of the child Loan Danilo Peña.

Specifically, Gustavo Vera, head of the Alameda Foundation, asked the court to require all participants in a political-partisan barbecue held on June 28 and organized by Pellegrini to testify, considering that it was an "alleged distracting and obstructive maneuver of the investigation," as reported by the C5N news channel.

They also request that the provincial prosecutors who took Laudelina Peña's complaint be summoned to testify, as well as the lawyer José Codazzi, who gave Loan's aunt 50,000 pesos to establish the hypothesis of the accident, also threatening her that she and her daughter would go to jail.

In his presentation, Gustavo Vera requested that an investigation be carried out into “a network of institutional cover-up surrounding the forced disappearance” of Loan, which would involve important officials of the provincial administration.

For this reason, he requests that, among others, Goya councillor Guillermo Córdoba be called to testify, in whose house the aforementioned barbecue was held the day before the complaint that Laudelina filed with provincial prosecutors, raising the hypothesis of the accident.

So the Alameda Foundation seems to be saying that Senator Pelligrini organized a barbecue at Cordoba's house (the day before the Pelligrini/Codazzi/Laudelina/Macarena car meeting) to decide what to do about the disappearance of Loan and it was decided amongst the attendees for Pelligrini to make Laudelina and her daughter lie about the car accident and blame it on Perez and Caillava.

Miguel Ángel Pierri reported that his client, Commissioner Maciel, did not return to the prison in Salta and said that he cannot provide details about where he is being held. He was transferred to another prison after receiving threats. The judge announced that he will testify again on Tuesday. He gave details about Maciel's statements before Judge Cristina Pozzer Penzo:

Maciel has been a commissioner in Corrientes for only four months and he doesn't know the area. He didn't know any of the people at the lunch, except Mrs. Victoria from three protocol events that she attended in her capacity as an official and she came with Pérez.

The phone call that Maciel received at 1:30 in the morning was from Sergeant Duarte. He gave the news to Coordinator Báez and when they went to meet with Duarte, he told them that it was a false alarm. Duarte will be summoned to testify. The judge visited the grandmother yesterday to corroborate a series of data that have to do with Maciel's statement.

Maciel described an inexplicable inaction on the part of the prosecution, cited the number of people who came forward to collaborate that the prosecutor did not use. Prosecutor Castillo and his deputy will have to explain what they did and why they did it.

"The judge is afraid of the magnitude of the statement, Maciel cannot return and has to be in a private place. He told the judge that he is afraid of being killed, he gave her references and information saying that he fears for his life."

We declare and denounce that Maciel's arrest was illegal. He was arrested under false pretenses and detained. He was taken from his workplace in the middle of the investigation without reading his rights, without witnesses, without anything. There is no doubt that someone wanted Maciel not to be in the investigation.

Since this morning, Federal Police agents have been conducting a search at the home of the son of Victoria Caillava. Jorge Bertón, known in 9 de Julio as “Jorgito." A neighbor of Cailllava and Perez said that Perez went to look for his mother's boat because he feared it would be vandalized. In addition, the neighbor declared having seen on June 13, the day Loan disappeared, a pickup truck going at high speed, around 11 p.m., which entered a country road that connects to Agarrobal, the area where the minor was last seen. The agents are also examining the white truck parked at the location.

They also searched the home of Cristian Bertón, brother of the ex-husband of Caillava, who also owns a white truck.

Federal judge Cristina Pozzer Penzo of Goya ordered the eviction of Macarena and Camila, cousins of Loan Danilo Peña. Both had been staying in a hotel under the supervision of lawyers from the Lucio Dupuy Foundation, but now they must return to their homes under police custody.

Laudelina's lawyer, Mónica Chirivín, rejected the meeting that the Judge authorized between her client and Antonio Benítez. She said that having a meeting at this stage with such small differences does not make sense. The judge's decision was made because of the differences in the statements between Laudelina and Benítez regarding the employment relationship that allegedly existed between Caillava and Pérez. While Benitez claims that such a link did not exist, Laudelina claims that it did.

The court decision clarified that it is "not mandatory" for the two to see each other face to face, although the action could clarify the contradictions.
