A 24-year-old driver will face court on Monday charged with the murder of a 23-year-old woman who was allegedly hit by a car as she walked home on Friday morning in Daisy Hill.

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with murder after allegedly mounting the curb in her SUV and striking a young mother who had just dropped her daughter off at daycare.

The incident occurred just before 9am on Friday morning as Kiesha Thompson, 23, walked home along Allamanda Drive near Rose Street in Daisy Hill, Logan, south of Brisbane.

Queensland Detective Inspector Chris Knight said the investigation ramped up considerably on Friday night after inquiries showed the suspect spent some time driving around the area before the collision.

"On Saturday, detectives executed a number of search warrants, and we recovered a silver Toyota Prado motor vehicle that we believe at this stage was the vehicle involved in that traffic collision," Inspector Knight said.

The vehicle has been taken for forensic testing.

Queensland Police charged Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant, 24, with murder after she allegedly struck 23-year-old Kiesha Thompson while driving a silver Toyota Prado about 9am on Friday in the Logan suburb of Daisy Hill, 24km south of Brisbane’s CBD.

The Courier Mail has reported that Ms Sant is the new girlfriend of Ms Thompson’s former partner.

Ms Sant’s car was seized on Saturday by police.

What a ghastly situation , all these little kids involved, have not been able to find a picture of the bloke, I have $50 says he looks like a cane toad, what gets into these women's heads? ... Larissa does not look that bright, her facebook stuff is facile,, yet here she is, mowing down a mother on the street in broad daylight.. it 's not as if it's even thought thru!...

According to police, she drove around for hours , waiting, .... plenty of time to think things thru, to come up with reasons why not, but no. This was determination taken to a whole other level.. An inability to foresee consequences, ....

James is the father of Kiesha's child, ........ I don't know if that child is his only child, it does not seem that he is the father of the killer's ( Larissa ) children.... who their father's are, is, whatever, not known.

Now, Daily Mail Australia can reveal that a seemingly fake social media account in Ms Thompson's name was set up in April.

The account features highly explicit pictures of Ms Thompson that appear to have been posted without her permission.

The only time the account - which includes link in the bio to a non-existent OnlyFans page - appears to have been active was the day it was created, when 15 photos of Ms Thompson were uploaded.
