A 24-year-old driver will face court on Monday charged with the murder of a 23-year-old woman who was allegedly hit by a car as she walked home on Friday morning in Daisy Hill.

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with murder after allegedly mounting the curb in her SUV and striking a young mother who had just dropped her daughter off at daycare.

The incident occurred just before 9am on Friday morning as Kiesha Thompson, 23, walked home along Allamanda Drive near Rose Street in Daisy Hill, Logan, south of Brisbane.

Queensland Detective Inspector Chris Knight said the investigation ramped up considerably on Friday night after inquiries showed the suspect spent some time driving around the area before the collision.

"On Saturday, detectives executed a number of search warrants, and we recovered a silver Toyota Prado motor vehicle that we believe at this stage was the vehicle involved in that traffic collision," Inspector Knight said.

The vehicle has been taken for forensic testing.

The alleged driver — 24-year-old Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant — has been charged with one count of murder.

The woman accused of killing a Brisbane mother in an alleged hit-and-run incident is the new girlfriend of the mum’s ex, according to reports.
Queensland Police charged Larissa Rita Mae-Leigh Sant, 24, with murder after she allegedly struck 23-year-old Kiesha Thompson while driving a silver Toyota Prado about 9am on Friday in the Logan suburb of Daisy Hill, 24km south of Brisbane’s CBD.

The Courier Mail has reported that Ms Sant is the new girlfriend of Ms Thompson’s former partner.

Ms Sant’s car was seized on Saturday by police.
