Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

I must confess, that the more I think about the Pablos issue, my mind is starting to turn and possibly canvas other scenarios too, a la South Aussie. For starters, the claim that the two 'lost contact' and did not meet up sounds lame and suss. As has previously been observed in this thread, Gary...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

No, don't believe he was a daily user either. Afterall, he had to keep down a job, at which he was doing well at, he got up at 5am three times a week for bootcamp - he seemed like a very highly functioning person. Ive never done drugs or been part of a scene, even on a recreational level, but I...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Oh, ok Indigo7, not being a local of the Blue Mtns, the detail you describe here was not known to me. I knew they were searching properties but it does sound like it was very intense in the first few days. IMOO I can only imagine that would have been fuelled by inside info that drugs may have...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

I think the planned quantities of the drug deal came from phone records of either or both parties. Even though we're not allowed to discuss family, there is something quite insightful that Gary's father wrote on his own page on a social networking site, in the form of a public post, on the day...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes, that puts it in the right perspective and sums it up perfectly, in my mind too, FigTree. Well said.

It will be very interesting to see what 'recommendations' come out of the inquest. They'll go through everything, the police and emergency services operational response, the Oracle event, actions of persons at that event, the drug dealer ... So many issues to take into consideration. Personally...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

They all caught a bus up there from Sydney - don't think any of them had cars with them. Yes, very little is known of the colleagues and their role in this, or their state of mind. It does kind of seem that Gary was the 'gopher' for the group. Not sure, the others may have known (of) Pambos too...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Given the description of how Gary left the Fairmont, I don't know if many people questioned whether he left voluntarily, no one could just work out WHY he ran out... And, as i said in an earlier post today too, i do think many people suspected drugs may have come into play in some form in this...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

I gather from reports that it was Gary's phone records that revealed the planned drug deal. As a result of the police investigation

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

The more you think about it, the more twists and turns become apparent in this case - although this is just my own thinking and interpretation. One's mind drifts to various what-if scenarios... Now that Pambos has been arrested and charged, that of course means a drug dealer is off the streets...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

My understanding is it was local/s. Locals who claimed they obtained their information from 'reliable sources', which were suggested to be other locals, or employees at the Fairmont, or in one or two cases volunteers involved in the search.

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

I think a drug or substance related scenario of some sort was what most people had already been anticipating, and the confirmation of this is slowly seeping out and embodying itself. I also think a lot of parties here have been instructed to keep their mouths on the entirety of this case - good...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes, I agree. It does sound like a relatively small amount to drive all that distance for. It also sounds like a last minute idea, otherwise GT could have procured the drugs before he headed off to the mountains. It was reported that over dinner at Silks he was making enquiries as to where to...

I dont think the admin for the HYSGT site is Anika. She is being referred to in the third person on that site, I'm thinking it's someone else who administers that site.

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

A lot of information on phone activity can still be obtained from the service provider in the absence of the phone being recovered. It was also reported that police had taken possession of Gary's laptop and ipad as part of the investigation. It is hard to know what to make of the statement...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes, all i can remember is that it was mentioned by police that dogs were used but no further information on where they were used, whether they could or could not detect any scent, when they were used, etc. Having said that, i would find it puzzling as to why dogs could not detect any scent. It...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes, hwneyz, I'm also one of those who's read every post on here and on the facebook page. I remember that comment about a rumoured find of Gary in a tree - however I recall the poster said it was a tree in the Valley of the Waters. It upset people, because it was a rumour, and it did end up...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Welcome Werkal. When Gary's body was eventually found, it was reported that 'no items were found on the body'. Later on, it was then reported that initial identification by his partner was enabled by, amongst other things, that his wallet was found on him. However, no mention was made of his...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Thanks so much for all this effort, Figtree! My understanding of the ledge, 30mtrs down, where Gary was found is that it is the row of bushes that you can see to the right of your circle, coming out about two thirds of the way down from the right curve of your yellow circle.

Many thanks Figtree, Mayhem and Marlywings for the re-posting of photos and directions to where it is thought Gary was found. Very helpful. Puts it into a different perspective for me. I had imagined he might have been walking along that narrow path that Figtree had posted photos of not long...
