They'll go on what we call the "back channel" for private info because the news listens in. Also they'll call for radio silence if a deputy is going into a dangerous situation, such as apprehending someone with a wespon- twiddledee

Im a 911 operator and you wouldn't BELIEVE the number of people that do this! And standing right next to each other, both calling 911! I can here the other caller in my call AND my coworker responding to her next to me. I still don't understand why citizens do this but it happens several...- twiddledee
