I wish I could remember where I saw the interview, as it has all run together in my mind now. But I saw the one where she was driving around her town in the winter, and her mom said she had not heard from her. This other video was done after that and since she freely admitted to not hearing...

I keep hoping the lack of new information is due to following up leads and not tipping off possible suspects, as opposed to nothing being done. In fairness to LE, if you have followed all leads and gotten nowhere....what do you do? Hopefully things are going on behind the scenes. I saw an...

I wish you expanded on those thoughts.....but just reading it gave me hope that there are theories she is alive (and hopefully well). I wish there were updates and concrete leads as to where the investigation is. I guess it is possible they have exhausted leads and have nothing to report. So...

It seems a good idea to attempt jog someone's memory by releasing the letter mailing location. I just wonder if it is a good idea why it is not done. I remember reading about police worrying about copycat letters etc. but those could be weeded out quickly I'm sure. If someone wanted to do...

I can't begin to imagine the anguish she must be going through. And how can one continue to find "hope" under the circumstances? What a cruel existence. I guess this is why we keep turning over and over all the facts and hoping to arrange them in a way that finally solves the puzzle.

Can they do that on mere suspicion? But for all we know the post mark was used to purposely confuse by getting people to search in the wrong area.

The only thing I could think of was if the postmark gave them an indication of someone to watch and they don't want to tip their hand. I'm sure as frustrated as we are, it must be worse for LE who must balance providing info without giving out anything which could scare off suspicious persons.

I would think anything which helps bring her home is a good thing. If releasing the info. about the letter would help I'd like to think the family and LE would do so...not sure what keeping it back does do.

When LE said to watch your neighbourhood looking for new faces it suggested me to that they half expected her to re-surface under an alias. I remember reading someone posting an open letter to her that if she either wouldn't or couldn't come home they hope she is warm, comfortable and at...

Very interesting post! I have wondered, based on her father's letter about assuming she did run away, what did she run from. If she was running from something, would everyone she ran from telling her they love and miss her, actually be the trigger to come back? Or work in the opposite...

I have wondered even if she could come home, what courage it would take at this point to do so and face the scrutiny of the media and endless questions from friends etc. From the way her mother has phrased things in interviews it sounds at times as though Abby was at least perceived to have...

Now viewing those statements through the prism you suggest makes me waffle on what I just posted!

Sorry if I offended, but when I said "ignorance" I was referring strictly to my own lack of knowledge! So please don't take offence, it was a self reference! I watched some of the video of news conferences yesterday, her mom's interviews and it seems more and more (subject to change without...

Part of the analysis time I wondered was spent finding other fingerprints and checking them on however many data bases there are. But yes, it is not a fast process done in 60 minutes to wrap up a show or before the next commercial. My largest problem here is 1. ignorance and 2. whoever speaks...

If you take the letter out of the equation it changes everything. I have wondered why verification of it took so long prior to the public announcement. My own guess is that they acted upon information it may have given or suggested, and when that didn't work, made the announcement, hoping to...

I guess it is a fine line between giving out all info and withholding so the investigation can proceed unimpeded. But after so long, from the outside looking in, I'd think a change of approach might help. I hate to second guess those who know far more than me though. All other unknowns pale...

Thanks for the replies. Yes the backpack is of interest because if she took her school books it would appear she intended to come back. If no books went with her, then it would appear as though no return was intended. Same with her reported appearances on the highway. I heard she was walking...

A friend in the USA told me of this story, and I followed it somewhat, and kept checking in to see updates. Now, like most people, I find it so strange nothing new has happened. So sad for the family, I cannot imagine what these folks are going through. As a parent though, I cringe at the...
