Just reading your link to the cross examination and I realised that Mr Fuller suggests to GBC that he killed Allison in the early hours of the ( Friday) morning. I guess this fits with him smothering her while she was sleeping and not late evening on the Thursday. So maybe all the screams around...
The hard fact: he had his lower legs in easy reach but in his version did not choose to put them on yet ran towards the apparant danger. I guess having a loaded gun and trained to use it, may have overcome feeling vulnerable?
All legal argument is public, just the jury will be excluded. The media may be order not to comment on it. So yes it will be open to the public. The only thing is though it may not be put through to the overflow rooms. I am not sure on this but if you can go tomorrow it would be worth giving it...
I posted about this last night. The short answer is the judge will direct the jury that a manslaughter verdict is available to them if they think he unlawfully killed Allison but can't be satisfied on intent which is the main difference between murder and manslaughter.
That's how I feel too. We have seen no evidence or suggestion of even the remotest possibility that anyone else was involved either during or immediately after.
I agree JBC. Basically the defence can't suggest an alternate theory of how the person died if their client has told them he is responsible. That's part of the ethics of being a lawyer. I remember our ethics textbook at law school and I was amazed how small it was compared to all the big thick...
Yep, Really found Oscar forum. Lunch break in South Africa at the moment. They have so many breaks and early finishes there it's incredible. The GBC trial would be double the length if it was in SA. Supposedly defence is on its last witness thank goodness.
Yes, I understand his defence is funded by legal aid due to his lack of finances. I have no problem with that. That is our system to ensure justice to all, even those accused of terrible crimes.
Hey Trooper, speaking of funny things about what barristers wear, what I find amusing is they often carry big red velvet sacks just slung over their shoulder and resting on their black gowns. It's always a Santa moment for me when I spot one of these beauties.
And no I am not jealous i never...
In Australia and UK. Both are lawyers. The barristers do the complex court representations and are briefed by the solicitors who the clients come to for legal assistance. I am a solicitor though I do a lot of my own court appearances but not trials. I would brief a barrister to do that. As...
The note to the jury, likely said, "I did not kill my wife"! Something very wrong with him if he thought he could interfere with the jury. Worse than the media trying to!
I think he has many different looks and it's hard to reconcile them. For eg I think The photo of him at the cross country with the red eye, is a normal reasonably good looking man, dodgy eye aside.
I think he was relaxed, enjoying hanging out with his sister and watching the girls. He wasn't...
