The abandonment approach would be simplest for a perp, whoever that may have been. Of course, if the victim were to survive long enough for SAR to save them, could the perp face charges?
I guess the perp would need to ensure that LE didn’t arrive too soon — possibly by pretending to...
I have had a vague, similar feeling — that the two of them were quarreling that day. I had not broken it down so clearly as you did. Thank you.
So, IF they were not getting along, and BT went off on her own ... could it be that RT didn’t really do his best to locate her? Could he possibly be...
Respectfully SABBM for focus.
That was my thought originally, however I think poster @sroad said that the land is quite flat, and the large RV should have been visible if someone were lost.
In this case, why climb up onto rocks and possibly fall into a crevice? I am not arguing, just trying...
I am too scared to look at the pictures!! I think I get gist though. Are there crevices in this area? (Sorry if that is a stupid question.)
Would BT have gotten into a crevice for shade? Or be the sort to seek out that adventurous experience? Or feel pressured into putting herself in a...
Many newer vehicles are able to be unlocked with a numeric combination or a fingerprint or whatever .... why not leave all the keys in the truck? Does their vehicle not have that option?
When RT returned to the truck, why did he spend time looking under rocks??? Are there giant rocks that she...
The following are my feelings, observations and pure speculation:
I was finally able to watch one of RT’s interviews. I was struck by his apparent lack of concern for BT’s welfare. I would expect comments like “I hope she is getting enough to eat/drink, she needs her medicine, I worry she is...
Wow! PommyMommy, this is so impressive! Barbara, her loved ones and us sleuthers are so lucky to have you on our “team”. It’s very heartwarming to see so much care and dedication. Thank you!!
,
I have asked this before but have not seen it adequately addressed. Someone PLEASE answer or ask least discuss:
>> How many drinks did Barb have that day?
>> What were her drinking habits?
And two more questions for good measure:
>> How much (if nay) did RT drink that day?
>> What were RT...
Thank you so much for such a well-thought out explanation! I really appreciate your experienced point of view. I saw pictures of the area but couldn’t really get it.
All this talk of murders and fatal accidents makes me not want to ever go hiking again.
IF someone were to kill someone, and say the person vanished on a hike/walk in the desert.... Why would they not just make it look like an accident? No need to hide a body. Making it hard to find the body just complicates everything. Would be easier to claim the person fell, wouldn’t it??
The...
I’m not a beer drinker and I can’t tolerate heat so this seems very odd. In trying to have it make sense, I think of my friends, family, and acquaintances— I can’t see anyone I know doing this. Drinking beer at the beach? Yes. On the golf course? Yes. In the desert? No. On a hike? Not really...
If my spouse were to go missing during a walk/hike, I would want everyone to know that I had asked him to stay with me but that he decided to go on without me. And I would probably be pretty angry at him. It wouldn’t be to make him look bad, but to let people know I tried to keep us together.
Wow! Thank you for the link. That is eerily similar!! I wonder if BTor RT were aware of this missing person. Would certainly push me off the fence if there were digital traces of this story on RT’s computer.
I’m so thankful this thread is open. I check it regularly, waiting for some good...
I hope BT is found soon.
I am still on the fence about what happened. For some reason,
this case reminds me of two totally different, separate cases: Roberta Snider (who disappeared supposedly while on a road trip with her husband) and Joe Keller (a 19 year old track star, on a road trip...
It’s so sad. It seems like Jonathan was a good, sweet kid. I sincerely hope LE are working hard to get justice. I feel as though his family must be crushed by this loss. Makes my heart ache.
Very well said! We are so fortunate. The ripple effect caused by these monsters is devastating. Too bad there isn’t some way to hold criminals accountable. (IMO jail isn’t enough punishment and doesn’t even come close to providing restitution.
