http://www.boston.com/news/nation/2014/07/21/questions-police-account-child-death-hot-car/fNCwGu2GIj9KZefvm40BBP/story.html#comments Detectives lie, just as do suspects. Good article, and worth the read. this in response to MzOpinionBd. It's been a while since I have been here - sorry.

Is there anyone that believes Ross is innocent?

You guys have changed everything since I have been here?!? Hope I am replying n the right spot. I was pretty sure the detective was lying on the stand when he testified. He was rattling off many of the texts and phone calls on Ross's phone. But when the defense attorney asked him if he had...

This poor juror is already getting death threats on other sites. What an injustice to her.

Jordon's Mom has already stated this was not a hate crime. She seems to be changing her mind now. I wonder what influenced her.

We will never know if he said something about the case because the state blocked that. And I suspect they blocked it because it was not helpful to their case.

In my opinion, Stornes lied about thinking it was only 6:30, and in my opinion, he did that to try to save his own skin. Unnecessarily, as it turned out, since the state ignored it. If he would lie to save his own skin, in my opinion, he would lie to protect Jordon and his other friends. Why...

Did you believe Stornes was telling the truth about why he was out past his curfew? He thought it was only 6:30? If there was a weapon in the SUV, all of the young men had a reason to lie. I know Stormes watched part of the trial. I can't find a timeline, or the police interview of the...

If Jordon were alone in the car, he may not have responded to MD in the same way. If the gun gave MD courage, did the three friends of Jordon give him "courage"? MD is not the only witness that may have given self serving testimony. The three boys with Jordon also had reason to tailor their...

Did anyone at the wedding testify, or even say, that MD was drunk?

Wasting their time, or not wasting their time, (mistrial), has nothing to do with guilt or innocence, and IMO, should not be considered. Their only job is deciding guilt or innocence based on the evidence put forth in a court of law.

You would CHANGE your mind based on not on evidence put forth in the trial, but on a possible mistrial? I must be mistaken, because I thought that their entire decision was to be based on trial testimony.

How is knowing if a mistrial will be declared going to help the jurors decide guilt or innocence? That is their only job.

Help me understand the "angle" theory you have. MD was in the front seat of his car. Jordon was in the back seat BEHIND MD, but parallel to MD. If the door was shut, IMO, the bullets would have been at an angle. If the door was open even slightly, it would be more of a 90 degree angle...

The judge told them it would result in a mistrial on the count that cannot agree on?!! Wish they would have done that in AZ.

Unfortunately, I believe it is true in a general sense, and has been for some time. If the judge and attorneys are having trouble with the language, I would think that would be even more true for jurors not educated in legalize. The judge mentioned that the attorneys and he spent over five hours...

The fact that the judge lamented in open court, and on record, the difficulties of understanding the jury instructions, will most likely be an appeal issue.

So the charge on the other boys has to be proven premeditated?

So does that make the claims - that the police never knew about the possibility of a gun in the SUV possible until they talked to MD - untrue?

You are wrong about the being charged twice thing. If MD is declared not guilty, he will not be able to be charged with any of the lesser included in the future. If they come up with a brand new charge that was not covered I this trial, that does n ot relate to the current charges, then they...

I believe the way the law, or the way the jury instructions are worded need to be changed. I know nobody here agrees, but I believe MD could be declared not guilty the way the law reads. The "no retreat necessary" clause gives the jurors zero concrete evidence as to the thoughts (no action) of...
