    Trial Discussion Thread #53 - 14.12.9, Day 42 ~ final verdict~

Good luck with that one ( the book) the majority have heard enough of his balderdash. Who the hell would pay one halfpenny of their hard earned money to line his already bulging pockets with blood money. As for a film ( can still envisage his sister's embarrassing and disgusting re-enactment of...

I totally believe Sam Taylor's story too, an obvious control freak narcissist she is describing once they feel they have reeled you in. Those recognisable traits, if you ever had the misfortune to hook up with one , so much so that you would never again give one the time of day as your life...

Exactly, and if he thinks it's 'tally ho , off I go ' the blade runner is back in business , he is deluded. He could well face a gauntlet of boos and hisses and the odd egg or rotten tomato might find its target. Whose to say his safety will be guaranteed anywhere, he might actually be safer...

Thanks cottonweaver, what an excellent article. It appears that Masipa has made a few *advertiser censored* in her interpretation of certain points of law. She has got her knickers in a twist in her explanations which do not appear to fit the criteria needed for such decisions. So hopefully the astute Mr...

You are right, the lady and her side-kicks have already made up their minds, perhaps even before the trial proceedings. Nel had done more than enough IMO to secure a murder conviction (he actually spelt it out in terms of the law word for word) at the very least, what else can he say now that...

I don't blame Nel for being furious, I'm sure he is realising that all his hard work, his excellent reasoning, his commitment to justice for the victim was actually falling on deaf ears as he spoke. The fact that OP, the star witness and killer, proved himself a liar on the stand obviously...

<modsnip> An obvious control freak and judging by the emails , the same behaviour was surfacing with Reeva but she was not knuckling under. IMO he knew who was behind that door and he fired in the throws of rage.

I would suggest she will be enjoying a handsome retirement fairly soon.

Can the Steenkamps take him to a civil court as the Goldman's did with OJ and won?

Exactly, But then again according to him 'everything was fine' as Reeva lay breathing her last on the stone cold tiles.

It appears he's going to walk away with no more than a pain in the arse from the hours of sitting on that hard bench.

Heaven forbid if her husband leaned over her in the dark to check if she was still breathing, he could get a bullet between the eyes.

Sorry but the lady is now getting on my wick. Even if she can force out the words 'guilty of culpable homicide' in these circumstances the violent killing of Reeva, it will be a travesty and little more than a slap on the wrist IMO.

And make sure if you are a neighbour who unfortunately happened to hear anything that may be beneficial to the police, keep your mouth shut and get on with you life.
