GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

While I am not entirely positive, I would think that any outstanding severance pay would be considered part of a decedent's estate and would be dispersed along with the other assets in the estate. Who would ultimately receive the severance pay would depend on the terms of a will, if present, or...

GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

I believe there was some discussion earlier in the thread about why only one of the men's photos had been released to the public. I overlooked the answer to first time I read this article, so pulling it out for anyone else who did the same. Though, I still think there is a decent possibility...

GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

Voluntary disappearance is one possibility that, IMO, should be at least considered in most missing person cases. However, I have had trouble seeing this case turning out that way. I usually take the family's "they'd never just skip town like this" assurances with a grain of salt and look for...

GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

Ugh. I know. That is a bit of an elephant in the room for me. I want LE to be doing exactly what they are doing in this case - really, I am sincerely glad that they appear to be making such progress in the investigation so quickly. But... I also find myself wishing they were this on top of...

GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

I keep thinking about his family and how this happened off duty. LE's families worry enough about them while they are on duty. I'm sure his family thought he was much safer when he wasn't. As someone who is quite the worry wart, this reminds me how futile worry can often be; the worst things...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. :(

That's what I thought I heard, too, but figured that wasn't right. Listened harder the second time - Louisa County was where it was found (which means the vehicle had to travel back south after being photographed in Manassas.)

Were you able to catch the location of the vehicle? I thought I heard her state the location but I couldn't catch what she said.

GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

For some reason, reading your comment made me consider whether those involved knew he was an LEO. I hadn't realized that I had been assuming that they knew this, ignoring the possibility that they didn't. If they knew him (and that he was an LEO), there's a variety of theories about what could...

GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

Here is a map showing all 4 of the locations: http://goo.gl/maps/jZ6vV From Afton, VA, the car would have had to travel south to Fork Union (possibly via Route 6 or I64/Route 53/Route 15) and then travel north to Manassas via Route 15. I wonder where KQ may have been met with foul play. Did...

I really hope that his reputation will not be tarnished because of this. He's a young man at the height of his success and does not deserve to face unjustified repercussions for the actions of his scummy extended family. I hope that the family hires private PR or seeks any PR professionals...

VA VA - Christopher Douthat, 24, Rocky Mount, 25 Oct 2013

I didn't want to be the first one to say it, but that's the best (really, the only) theory that came to mind when I read about the parking lot meet-up. A busy, dinner-time grocery store parking lot is a fairly ideal location for a quick and inconspicuous drug exchange. Depending on how careful...

I'm not sure whether anyone else tried as well, but mtrooper said back in thread #3 that after searching without results, she finally called the number and it was disconnected. Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - OK OK - Jamison Family; Truck, IDs, money, & dog found...

I completely agree. As someone who takes daily psych meds and who went through numerous trials and errors to find the correct medication and dosage to reach a consistent, regulated state (which is a common experience), I too would be fighting to get access to my prescriptions if they were being...

This excerpt from the article jumped out at me: Either way, this is just shoddy writing, as she can't have been last seen twice. But which is accurate? It's entirely possible I'm misremembering facts, but I thought that the last time she was allegedly seen was at her home by CW and that the...

OkieGranny, did you happen to come across any helpful discussion of the phone records, particularly these mystery calls, over on Topix? I have been begrudgingly making my way through those posts since I looked at your posted links and saw the amount of additional information (of course, of...

OK OK - Jamison Family: Truck, IDs and Dog Found Abandoned 08 Oct 2009 - #12

Quoting this because I've seen this question asked several times but haven't seen any answer to this. I've been wondering the same thing for a long time and the only possible theory I have seen thrown out was that the number could possibly belong to a disposable phone that was no longer in use...

Darn it, my sincere apologies! I listed the correct section number (36-18-25), but I had been flipping back and forth between 24 and 25 and ended up linking the wrong URL. Here is a corrected link for Section 36-18-25. The relevant subsection is (c)(1), which reads: "(c)(1) All persons...
