Looks like most routes in the correct direction for heading to Honington don't have CCTV, so looks like he didn't evade CCTV there just wasn't any. That makes a bigger area for him to be picked up unseen.

He isn't a medic assigned to the RAF Regiment, he is a RAF Gunner with a secondary role as a field medic.

I agree. Definately not AWOL. I don't think he purposely avoided CCTV he just happened to avoid CCTV after Short Brackland. I think sadly he is no longer with us but I am undecided whether it is an accidental death (e.g falling into water on way home) or an intentional death by persons unknown.

Would there be enough room in the cab of this lorry for a person to sneak in and not be seen? I have never been in the cab of a bin lorry but wondered if there is any space behind the seats? Edited to add. looking at various bin wagon pictures online (whilst not know the type used by the firm...

jamesking, There was a post earlier where the guy did just that more or less. He got out of a taxi - left his wallet and phone by road and fell in body of water not far away and was still missing for weeks. Adrian Lynch...

Tricksy - Honington 1 n ! As a local you may know of the lakes at Livermere but I bet most of the servicemen don't and once in the country I bet they would cut across country instead of sticking to country lanes. TBH though, It never occurred to me to ever walk from Chicagos as it was (now...

Not strictly true. He left the Short Brackland area without being seen on CCTV. Short Brackland is the street I would expect him to take to get back towards Honington. It gets residential very quickly and not so much CCTV in that direction. I would have expected someone to have seen him walking...

River, ditches etc. There is a big fishing lake near Fornham st Genevieve and some big lakes near Gt Livermere ('Livermere' means the lake where rushes grew from pre 7th century Olde English...
