Looks like most routes in the correct direction for heading to Honington don't have CCTV, so looks like he didn't evade CCTV there just wasn't any. That makes a bigger area for him to be picked up unseen.
I agree. Definately not AWOL. I don't think he purposely avoided CCTV he just happened to avoid CCTV after Short Brackland. I think sadly he is no longer with us but I am undecided whether it is an accidental death (e.g falling into water on way home) or an intentional death by persons unknown.

Not strictly true. He left the Short Brackland area without being seen on CCTV. Short Brackland is the street I would expect him to take to get back towards Honington. It gets residential very quickly and not so much CCTV in that direction. I would have expected someone to have seen him walking...
