But a man "stooping so low" wouldn't surprise you?
The fact is she is a lawyer, doing her job. He has a right to representation. The lawyer, male or female, doesn't have to like it, or like him.
I agree that a nice quick hanging would be ideal, but we're a civilised society in which...
That wasn't my intent. I really just meant that victim blaming should be frowned upon no matter what (until there is evidence they are not actually a victim).
See the post right before yours where he is accused of beating up his girlfriend. This is the only info I can find:
http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/man-stabbed-to-death-in-gosford-20121001-26u86.html
Has someone posted proof that he was beating her up? If not, he's been assumed to be asking for...
I think murder is comparable to murder, yes.
The trend of the thread continues with the assumption that this man was not innocent, and therefore was asking for it. I don't know the facts of the case so I don't know if that's true or not, but why is that assumption allowed when if anyone...
"Even our young men". Seriously? Do you actually think young men are generally not capable of feeling the same sorrow and empathy as the rest of society?
There have been some scary and untrue generalisations about men in this thread, and in the media about this whole case.
Yeah, and there are plenty of tall killers and the height isn't mentioned. Pretty pathetic IMO. Spoken as a short man, aware of his height but with no need to make up for it by being a criminal.
The police have already said they are not seeking anyone else. So the several cars arriving at 2am is confusing. Given that it happened around 1:50am, how would he have time to rape, kill, then get his mates around to his house? Or alternatively subdue her enough to get her in the car...
I think being offended is also fair - you can't tell someone not to be upset. I would be upset if I was on a plane and moved seats when I was next to a child because of the implied risk. The offence or anger should generally be directed at the criminals that have caused it though. Having said...
I think everyone, male and female, should read The Gift of Fear. My girlfriend read it recently and has found herself in a few situations when she's used what she's learned.
The basic premise is that you should listen to your instincts, they're usually right. And if they're wrong, what's the...
I feel devastated for the husband, brother and all friends and family but the overriding feeling I have is anger, which is somewhat selfish I know.
Who does this think he is, preying on an innocent member of society when she is at her most vulnerable? Sometimes when I'm walking home...
I must have missed all the intelligent things she's said.
If she was attacked, absolutely, that should be taken seriously regardless of who is attacked. If. If it did happen I'm stunned she didn't tweet about it that night.
Anyway, it's a fair question. The CCTV provides the answer in my view, as I stated in the other thread. She was definitely NOT grossly intoxicated. The shoes look like the only thing affecting her ability to walk*.
*I'm not blaming her choice of shoes for what happened.
