You're a kind person, and thank you :)
We need to get this thread back on topic!
I'm really not comfortable speculating about people, circumstances, etc, but does anyone have any ideas about when this case might come to trial? I guess 1 September is way too early? I think it took about a...
I realise that, but relationships within families can be so strange. Look at Mikaeel Kular, murdered by his mother who loved all her other children dearly; even she couldn't understand why she hated only one of her children...
Perhaps he had some kind of civilian post working for the army at some point, his profile didn't specify he was a soldier (I agree it could be implied).
Statement from the CPS here: http://www.itv.com/news/west/update/2015-03-04/cps-authorises-charges-in-relation-to-becky-watts/
"Having carried out a detailed review of the evidence gathered by Avon and Somerset Police, my conclusion is that there is sufficient evidence to charge Nathan Matthews...
Maxine Carr was charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice for providing a false alibi: http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2003/apr/16/ukcrime2
I guess we won't know the precise details until the trial.
The number of men is likely to be much higher because men are far less likely to report abuse because of these attitudes that only women can be victims, and women can only be victims.
This is the first case I've followed on here that could be nearing a conclusion, so I'd like to ask:
There's a possibility there could be charges this afternoon. What happens to this discussion if that happens? I assume it has to be locked until the trial and official updates posted without...

'Avon and Somerset Police have said that a woman being held for questioning was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after feeling unwell.
She was seen by a...
To be pedantic, the text pictured doesn't say that those are the people arrested, just that the woman is the person who lives in one of the houses being searched (presumably CML) and who her boyfriend is. The implication is obvious, but...
Statements from Becky's father and step-mother, and from her grandfather: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/newsroom/help-us-to-find-missing-rebecca-(16)/family-statement-following-development-in-becky-watts-investigation
Some people are undoubtedly trolling, but I think a lot of people genuinely believe that the arrests for murder mean that a body must have been found, and their assumptions are getting passed on as fact in good faith.
I was thinking that the opposite situation could be a reason why they've spent so much time doing forensic work at the family home - it seems to back onto allotments which could make it a lot easier for non-family to get access to the garden and even house. There has to be some reason why...
